Toilet facilities available on site including easy access toilet. Gift shop available and café selling drinks and confectionery only. Visitors can exit the Castle to get food from local shops, and re-enter the Castle later. Large children’s play area in the Castle Grounds with tables available for picnics.

Castle Collections Weekend ‘Cabinets of Curiosities’

Ghost Search

Sat 24th & Sun 25th September 11.30am-4.00pm We have a superb Museum collection and this weekend we are bringing out some of the more curious and unusual pieces we haven’t displayed before. These were often collected on a whim or at a time when it was fashionable to gather “curiosities” from around the world. Admission: Adults £7.00, OAP £6.00, Child (over 5) £4.50, Child (2-4yrs) £2.50, Under 2 yrs free. No Pre-booking necessary.

Haunted Castle

Mon 24th to Fri 28th October 11.30am-4.00pm A week full of ghostly goings on at the spooktacular haunted Castle. Come and be challenged by the hags to play ping pong eyeballs, make spells and engage in other Halloween activities. Look out for our spooky characters including the eerie executioner and St. Editha. Admission: Adults £7.00, OAP £6.00, Child (over 5) £5.00, Child (2-4yrs) £3.00, Under 2 yrs free.

Sat 29th October 5.00pm-8.30pm A fun evening hosted by the Friends of Tamworth Castle. Bring all the family, get dressed up in your spookiest costume and enjoy the ghostly goings on around the Castle. Free pumpkin lantern for all paying children. It’s very popular so please book your time slot. Admission: Adults £6.00, OAP £6.00, Child 3 years and over with pumpkin lantern £5.00, Child 2 years and under free – with no pumpkin lantern.

Join us for a night with a difference on our ghost walk around the Medieval Castle, with vigils conducted in reputedly haunted rooms. Cameras or camcorders can be used, and we advise warm clothing and rugs or cushions for use during the vigils as rooms can be chilly! Soft drinks are available for purchase and complimentary tea and coffee with a slice of cake are served. Doors open 7.30pm for a 8.00pm start until 12.00 midnight. Over 18s only. Adults £26.00. No concessions.

Children’s Victorian Christmas Santa Trails PRE-BOOKIN G

Dine like King Henry VIII at ESSENTIAL Tamworth Castle’s fun and sumptuous Tudor Banquets. Be entertained by musicians, singers and storytellers. Complimentary glass of wine with the meal and table waiting service is available. Dress code is casual but smart and we do encourage guests to dress in period costume. Tamworth Castle’s magical Victorian Christmas is fun all the way as the Castle household prepares for Santa’s visit. Help the servants make the Christmas pudding, decorate the Castle and receive a surprise gift from Santa’s grotto. Admission: Child 3 years and over £6.50, Child 0- 2 years £3.50, Adult £4.50. First 2 adults accompanying per child will be charged at £4.50 per adult. Any other adults thereafter will be charged at £6.00 each. PRE-BOOKING ESSENTIAL

Bonfire Night Sat 5th November

This is a chance to visit Tamworth Castle after dark, before enjoying the ever popular breathtaking firework display in the Castle grounds. Castle Grounds activities start at 6.00pm with Fireworks at 8.00pm. General admission fees to the Castle apply. Admission times: Doors open 5.30pm. Last admission to Castle 8.00pm.

These were often collected on a whim or at a time when it was fashionable to gather “curiosities” from around the world. Mon 24th to Fri 28th October 11.30am-4.00pm A week full of ghostly goings on at the spooktacular haunted Castle. Come and be challenged by the hags to play ping pong eyeballs, make spells and engage in other Halloween activities. Look out for our spooky characters including the eerie executioner and St. Editha. Bring all the family, get dressed up in your spookiest costume and enjoy the ghostly goings on around the Castle. Free pumpkin lantern for all paying children. Join us for a night with a difference on our ghost walk around the Medieval Castle, with vigils conducted in reputedly haunted rooms. Cameras or camcorders can be used, and we advise warm clothing and rugs or cushions for use during the vigils as rooms can be chilly! Soft drinks are available for purchase and complimentary tea and coffee with a slice of cake are served. Doors open 7.30pm for a 8.00pm start until 12.00 midnight. Over 18s only. Adults £26.00. No concessions.

Children’s Victorian Christmas Santa Trails PRE-BOOKIN G

Dine like King Henry VIII at ESSENTIAL Tamworth Castle’s fun and sumptuous Tudor Banquets. Be entertained by musicians, singers and storytellers. This is a chance to visit Tamworth Castle after dark, before enjoying the ever popular breathtaking firework display in the Castle grounds. Useful Information

Toilet facilities available on site including easy access toilet. Gift shop available and café selling drinks and confectionery only. Visitors can exit the Castle to get food from local shops, and re-enter the Castle later. Large children’s play area in the Castle Grounds with tables available for picnics.

The Castle is reached via a steep slope. Interior tour includes many steps, narrow doorways and uneven floors. Ground floor access only for wheelchair users. Carer admitted free. Drop off point for people with disabilities, please telephone before visiting for assistance.
