DRAMA

Red Leap Theatre

23-27 September

Red Leap Theatre is in school working with Drama exam groups. Red Leap is a devising theatre company, dedicated to innovating theatrical form through the intersection of dynamic physicality, arresting imagery, and inventive original storytelling. They wholeheartedly believe in the strength of collaboration to celebrate the power of the imagination.

Noel & James

29 September - 11 October

Noel Sullivan and James Bennett, our fabulous West End stars are returning to work with our students on Guys and Dollsour senior musical this year.

Dancing Through Decades

14 October

Our annual student-led Dance show, Dancing Through Decades will follow music and dance styles from various decades, from 1920’s Jazz, 70’s disco dancing, to the 2024 modern day dance and music. This project is led by three of our year 13 students Nuria Williams, Anand Lapping and Abigail Dunn.

Bouncers

12 November

Years 10-13 are creating a piece based on the ideas in John Godber’s play Bouncers, where comic events all happen all in one night out on the Town. This is a student led project directed by two of our Year 13 students, Lauren McCallum and Annis Edwards.

Metamorphosis

27 November

Years 9-13 present a devised piece based on Kafka’s Metamorphosis. This piece follows Gregor who turns into a dung beetle in this dark, physical, and immersive performance piece.

The Secret Lives of Teachers

10 December

Years 7 and 8 proudly present The Secret Lives of Teachers Finally, your timeless questions about teachers will be answered through a series of hilarious revelations. By the end of the evening, you'll know why teachers drink so much coffee and what to do if you unexpectedly encounter one in public. Please join us, as we peek behind the curtain into the secret life that occurs in the staff room and reveal the mysterious life of the teacher.

MUSIC

Music Tutors’ Concert

4 September

Our fabulous team of Instrumental Teachers will be taking to the stage to showcase the breadth of talent we have in the Instrumental team. This hour-long event will be an inspiration for our student musicians and parents alike.

Music Scholars’ Concert

11 September

This event will showcase the incredible talents and hard work of our scholars who have been diligently honing their craft under the guidance of their music tutors.

Informal Concert

24 September, 5.30pm, Recital Room 11 November, 5.30pm, Recital Room

An opportunity for musicians of all ages and abilities to perform in front of a small, supportive audience. These concerts are designed to support our musicians as they develop performance skills and confidence.

Senior Ensembles Concert

16 October

This exciting concert will feature a number of our Senior ensembles performing a broad range of musical genres in a prestigious professional concert hall. This will undoubtedly be one of the musical highlights of the term.

MUSIC

Year 5-8 House Singing Competition

18 October

For the third consecutive year, all students in Years 5 to 8 will again take to the stage to represent their House in this fiercely competitive but friendly event.

Remembrance at Kranji Memorial 9-10 November

The annual Remembrance Service at Kranji War Memorial is a beautiful and poignant event in which Tanglin students will perform as part of a combined school choir.

Formal Concert

19 November

This formal recital will feature a mix of soloists and small ensembles, presenting a varied programme of music.

Christmas Fair

29-30 November

Shop for your Christmas gifts to the melodious sounds of festive music performed by Infant,

Festival of Music, St George’s Church

6 December, 6.30pm, Minden Road

The Festival of Music at St George’s Church marks the beginning of Christmas. Audience members will be treated to festive music performed by Infant, Junior, and Senior students followed by mulled wine, mince pies, and carol singing in the courtyard.

Jazz Night

9 December, 6.00pm, Rehearsal Room

ART & DESIGN

National Gallery Trip

4-5 September, National Gallery Singapore

In preparation for our Interpretations event later in the year, Year 8 students take a trip to the National Gallery to immerse themselves in South East Asian Art. They learn about the contextual aspects of the work and develop their analysis skills.

Year 12 Bali Residential 25-29 September

Year 12 IB and A Level students will spend five days in Ubud, Bali, absorbing the culture and developing their art skills.

Year 13 Film Production Day 27 September

Year 13 Film and Media students will engage in film production projects, developing technical film and media skills and participating in creative, real-world, and collaborative group activities.

Year 12 Hitchcock Production Day 8 November

Year 12 Film and Media students will engage in film production projects related to the work of the famous director, Alfred Hitchcock. They will develop technical film and media skills and participate in creative and collaborative group activities as they attempt to emulate the work of the great director.
