The town was founded following Henry VII's building of Richmond Palace in the 16th century from which the town derives its name. During this era the town and palace were particularly associated with Elizabeth I. During the 18th century Richmond Bridge was completed and many Georgian terraces were built, particularly around Richmond Green and on Richmond Hill.

Two days before Brazil play Croatia in the opening match, we will have a preview of the tournament with some classic footage, some useful vocabulary and some chat! We will also be showing three 5 o’clock kick-off matches; one on the 16th and two on the 24th.

This celebrates the Queen’s Official Birthday, held in June when the weather is nicer (maybe). Her real birthday is in February! There will also be a RAF fly-past.
