Windsor is a small town on the banks of The River Thames, about 30 km from London. The Castle is the oldest and largest occupied castle in the world and the Official Residence of Her Majesty the Queen. Its rich history spans almost 1000 years. We will also cross the bridge to Eton with its famous, historic school.

We will go to a very good fish and chip restaurant to have battered cod or haddock with chips and mushy peas- delicious! Because the restaurant does not have a licence, you can bring a bottle of wine from a shop to drink in the restaurant.

St Patrick’s Day is on March the 17th and every year on, or near that date, Irish people celebrate their patron saint with music, dancing and maybe a few pints of Guinness! Many people of Irish extraction live in London and there is always a parade which ends in Trafalgar Square.

Dog racing is an organized, competitive industry in which greyhound dogs are raced around a track. The dogs chase an artificial hare or rabbit on a track until the greyhounds cross the finish line. As with horse racing, greyhound races often allow the public to wager on the outcome.

A Sunday morning tradition for many East Enders, Brick Lane market is a vast hotchpotch of stalls selling leather clothing, second-hand furniture and bric-a-brac. Here, second-hand stores and leather shops line the actual market itself, and hot dog stands compete for trade with the many cheap and cheerful Indian and Bangladeshi restaurants, trendy bars, and a famous 24-hour bagel shop.
