ARCHITECTURE GRADUATE
Hello there, my name is Tanishka A. Gupta and I’m a master’s student in architecture at Syracuse University in New York where I’m presently pursuing my dream of becoming an architect. I’ve previously earned a BFA in Architecture from (SCAD) Savannah College of Art and Design in Georgia. Originally from India, I discovered my love for architecture when I was a young child. From playing with building blocks to always sketching/painting even playing the role of a decorator and moving things around, I always knew I wanted to become an architect. Moreover, growing up and travelling around the world and learning about world architecture and its history, I left no opportunity in choosing it as my career path. I’ve learned so much about my field over the years that I chose to delve deeper into subjects like interior and graphic design. Learning more about interior and graphic design along with architecture not only helped me with my coursework at college but also developed my understanding of representation. Throughout COVID-19, I assisted a co-worker with the creation of graphic creatives for his company as well as enrolled for an interior design course online that taught me more about design, planning, color harmony and a variety of other topics which further enhanced my knowledge with design-related tools, including CAD, BIM, and Illustrator. Upon graduation from Syracuse University, I wish to acquire experience working for multiple firms before starting my own company in sustainable architecture.

SUBVERTING TAYLORISM IN OFFICE BUILDINGS
Incorporating In-efficiency into retreat inspired environment
Software: Revit , Lumion & Illustrator
1
Thesis Statement This thesis explores novel architectural tactics intended to challenge the stringent ideas of Taylorism in opposition to the historically pervasive Taylorist ideals, which promote streamlined efficiency and mechanization within office structures. This thesis aims to go beyond the usual boundaries of workplace architecture by purposefully embracing inefficiency through the extension of walking distances and the introduction of unorthodox circulation components like ramps. The suggested strategy strives to establish a harmonic balance between architectural aesthetics, utility, and wellbeing by using biophilic design concepts, flexible spatial arrangement, optimal lighting, and wellness-centric zones. This strategy tries to change the workplace into an environment that stimulates innovation, collaboration, and personal rejuvenation by questioning established standards and emphasizing user delight over just efficient performance.

LIVING NYC With ecology-centric design, Living NYC seeks to overcome food insecurity and expensive housing. Circular mechanisms and financial incentives are used by the sustainable housing concept to reduce living expenses. The initiative functions as a location for the production, distribution, and harvesting of local items and fresh food. Organic waste is transformed into power, while rainwater is collected and recycled as gray water. Renters who live in cooperative housing have more control over rent, a stronger sense of community, and access to a more democratic housing process. With hydroponics on the roof and perennial plants growing in the greenhouse, the building’s layout makes the most of the agricultural and ecology areas that are accessible.

CIRCULARITY
10
The project prioritizes circularity in an environmentally friendly building, featuring affordable living areas, a market and store, art incubators, and environmental initiatives. The sloping roof recycles dead vegetation, diverts water for irrigation, and supports local production through partnerships. Roof plants reduce stormwater runoff and improve air quality.
11
The structure has terrace roofs with stacked warren trusses that are slanted for rainfall collection and irrigation. Flat terraces are utilized for outdoor communal spaces with native plants because they stop soil erosion. Terracotta facades are long-lasting, energy-efficient, and recyclable. Rockwool is used in an irrigated hydroponic system for seedling development in biotile-based wall structures. The structure is intended to be sustainable and require little upkeep.

OPERATION RESTORATION ECO-CITY INITIATIVE Manhattan faces collapse in 2071 due to exploitation, climate change, and abandonment. Advanced androids, space dwellers, and a virtual void space contribute to the city’s demise. A research institution in Central Park aims to heal the world physically and address climate issues by replicating natural ecosystems.
Software: Unreal Engine & Rhino Group Project: Tanishka, Andrew & Ruth
13
The facility consists of three main offices for climate control, water sanitation, and agriculture, along with an educational division and housing building for employees. The facility uses solar-powered androids for efficient research and has a bionic ecosystem connected to the buildings. The central exterior sphere generates solar energy, which powers some buildings and charges surrounding rings, emitting cleansing energy that restores vegetation and filters air. The goal is to encourage people to return to Earth and use technologies to improve the city. The facility is located in Central Park, aiming to spread healing from nature to the rest of the city.

DULTUH MIDDLE SCHOOL
Inspired by the Place Based Education Model, the Duluth Middle School seeks to improve community relations and foster more teacher-student interaction. With its open floor layout and several courtyard areas, the school is divided into areas for the cafeteria, gym, auditorium, library, and classrooms. These courtyard areas function as transitional areas where people may interact with the shape of the building and feel both independent and connected.

The changes made to the existing floor plan, the modified floor plan presents the client with an open space that is much more spacious and elegant. The entire right section of the new floor plan incorporates the living, dining and the kitchen space all in one as to create unity and harmony in the space as well as characterize the clients idea of a family. The only main enclosed space is the home office as the space itself requires privacy and quiet. Overall, the new floor plan provides the client with a large open space with plenty of natural light that is elegant and sophisticated. DRAWING:

For this project the aim was to use to modern floor plan as shown previously and produce a full internal lighting and electrical design.
Software: Revit
The lighting and electrical design is to be drawn onto an electrical plan also known as a reflected ceiling plan, and on the plan that will show all light fixtures, power outlets, switches, dimmers, wiring, smoke detectors, exhaust fans and any other electrical equipment that is hardwired that will need to be communicated to your electrician. The existing house was built in the 1950s and features 2700mm high ceilings. A site analysis has been performed and found that the house will need to be completely rewired and updated to meet the demands of a modern family. Thus, the changed electrical and lighting plan provides the client with an elegant open space with soft lighting that is spread out in necessary spots of the house leaving most of the space with multiple window spaces allowing more natural light to flow in.

My goal in using this Green-Blue color scheme is to create a serene, tranquil environment that encourages calmness and a balanced mind in its occupants. For the entry door, I'm using a light hue, and for the walls and other features, I'm using green. I used Genie Dulux to draw attention to the kitchen and the lounge in the living room. I used a wallpaper in the living room to really brighten the area for the users as they move about and encourage them to interact with it more. Using this combination of hues, I have once again highlighted the entire palette and added a touch of warmth to the room by using warm wood flooring.
My goal with this vibrant, split complimentary color scheme is to create a lighthearted, joyous space that uplifts the spirits of its users. While the highlights are for the walls to draw attention to the living area, I am utilizing the lighter colors for the details.
Pale Musturd Dulux
In the living room, I used a wallpaper to really evoke the impression of a nice summer breeze for the users, encouraging them to interact more with the area as they move around.

My goal is to create a strong environment that enhances the room's natural viewpoint by using this green monochromatic palette. In order to allow users to lose themselves in nature, I'm utilizing light hues for the details and green for the walls. In order to encourage users to interact with the living room more, I used a wallpaper to evoke strong emotions in them as they moved through the area. MIXED MEDIA
A range of media produced using different mediums are showcased here and that range from software based designs to hand sketches and paintings.
An animation makes it possible for representation to be narrative in a new manner by introducing the 4th Dimension, TIME. This initiative will use animation as one of the tools in the effort to create immersive representations of material that are contextual, educational, and engaging. The project goal was to use Rhino & Grasshopper to build an object that tells a story or the way the object is being used as a result of its physical state. The building structure was first created, then it was imported into Lumion to make an environment, and finally it was imported into iMovie to create the animation.

This project explores the A-frame, a web framework for creating interactive experiences. Through this software, one can create experiences using the tool for a variety of platforms, including PC-based VR headsets and more. Using an existing template, I remixed it to make my own web experience using the A-frame environment. My goal for the project was to create a calming atmosphere in which the user is taken to space and is slowly being rotated around the planets. Link: https://shadowed-opalescent-fridge.glitch.me/

GRAPHIC DESIGN A collection of illustrations that explore different graphic styles. Through the preiod of COVID, I enrolled at skillshare, a website that enables students to experiment with a range of different programs and explore their creativity. In order to learn more about graphic design, I too explored a range of different programs to understand more about the industry. Here are some of my productions that was designed using their courses. Project Alkalen and Food for thought are something that I personally designed when I was working for my friend’s startup company. Alkalen was an Amazon project whereas, Food for thought was the startup.

This proposal was designed for Amazon who was trying to advertise Alkalen, India’s first alkaline water. The aim was to design creatives which would be then displayed on amazon website. These creatives share the information, benefits and motive behind alkaline water. 40
Similar to Alkalen, Food for thought is a startup company by my colleague who is also the founder of Enable where I worked for a year designing creative for marketing companies. This project is really close to my heart as I was appointed in charge for all the creatives that were designed from scratch. Food for though is about health and wellness wherein we advertised ayurvedic supplements that stimulates one’s memory and prevents them from being lethrgic and lazy. Represented here are some of the creatives that are posted on their instagram handle. Link: https://www.instagram.com/its.foodforthought/
