St. Vincent College in LaTrobe, PA, and senior fellow for the SENCER Institute, will lead this interactive session to provide an overview of the scholarship of teaching and learning and help participants begin to develop and understanding of of important characteristics of this work. Participants will also think about questions they wish

to study and evidence that might help in exploring the question. Time will be provided for individual reflection, sharing in small groups, and receiving feedback from colleagues. The sessions will also provide information about resources and tools for engaging in this work.

Sustainability and Chemistry: Tomorrow's Challenge for Today's Students What challenges does sustainability pose for the current and future state of science, particularly chemistry? What challenges do sustainability and chemistry pose to students who are in college now and may want to continue in graduate work or look for job in industry? To everyone? This talk will highlight some of those challenges as well as the opportunities that sustainability and chemistry together offer to individuals beginning their careers as scientists and to the general public.
