STARS AIR AMBULANCE
STARS — SHOCK, TRAUMA Air Rescue Service, is a Canadian non-profit helicopter air ambulance organization funded by individual donors, service groups, corporate donors and government contributions. STARS has rescued thousands of injured people and saved their lives by their quick transport to hospital facilities and their ongoing care by medical professionals along the way. STARS is for everyone in BC, Alberta and Saskatchewan. STARS first took to the air in 1985, and now 38+ years have flown by, and I think almost everyone in the West has friends or family (or both) whose lives have been positively impacted by STARS. STARS is a blessing, especially for people like us, who would rather be outside 6
than in, and whose idea of a good time generally involves livestock of some kind. But sometimes, getting hurt is not our fault. Traffic wrecks in the country, normally stable horses who blow up, or wildlife who decide we’re prey. Danger is a part of our lives, and when tragedy strikes, that’s when you and your loved ones truly appreciate STARS.
