Is Marriage And Family Therapy For You? Circumstances have a strange way of moulding relationships between two people. The multiple existence complexity comes into play when “two souls decide to unite as one�, but the minds stay two, the bodies stay two and the desires stay individual as well. Both you and your partner need to be comfortable with this person who is going to analyse your situation without any bias or prejudice. A lot of older couples feel alienated when it comes to couple therapy. They are of the opinion that this is only reserved for younger couples starting out their lives. However, visiting a marriage and family therapist can be quite therapeutic for those couples who are facing an empty nest syndrome. When all the children are settling into their own lives and their responsibilities are over, parents often face a sense of purposelessness. Visiting a therapist in this sense would help them identify patterns in their lives where they could avoid the sense of void.

The children may be going through their transformation years wherein they are confused of their own identity or the children may be going through a rough patch which is affecting the entire family as a unit. It helps to remove the obstacles that come in the way of a smooth life, helping one another identify the root cause of all their problems.
