Approaching a wide valley close to Sanlúcar la Mayor near Sevilla, one will be confronted with a quite surreal scene, called PS 10. On the bottom of the valley you can see a huge light dome. It is focused onto the top of a tall tower standing in a large field of mirrors. This is Europe’s Solar Thermal Tower Prototype, surounded by an array of photovoltaic and various solar installations. When one gets closer it gets even more exiting. There are no references in our memory to what we see here. It is just that: New! Made by Abengoa Solar, a Spanish company with a history in metall works and 20.000 employees based in Sevialla. The prinziple of a solar tower is easily understood by the experts and even we are wondering why we did not have it earlier. It is just a large boiler on top of the tower heated by sun rays. The produced steam drives a turbine and a generator producing power. Everything has a space port feeling to it and we see a lot of metal, even the mirrors are made out of it. Soon we can see that realized! Abengoa just got commisioned to built the world's largest trough power plant in Abu Dhabi. Quite a science fiction scene here, that would be even more surreal in a desert area where it is designed for. We wish Abengoa Solar lots of luck!

Wer sich dem Talkessel nahe Sanlúcar la Mayor, westlich von Sevilla auf der abschüssigen Strasse nähert, dem wird, wenn er Glück hat, ein surreal anmutendes Schauspiel geboten, genannt PS 10. Im Tal sieht man bei hellichtem Tage einen Lichtdom der auf einen Turm fokussiert wird! Europas einziger Photothermie Tower Prototypenanlage. Sie ist umgeben von riesige Spiegeln und allerlei sonstigen Photovoltaik Installationen. Wenn man näher ranfährt wird es noch aufregender. Man beginnt nach Referenzen zu suchen. Hat man/ frau so etwas schon mal gesehen?, Nein hat man/frau nicht, eben deshalb ist es so abenteuerlich. Neue Energie! Warum kennt man diese Anlagen nicht, zumindestens von Bildern, wer ist Abengoa Solar, deren Namenszug oben auf dem Tower prunkt. Abengoa kommt aus Spanien, hat weltweit 20.000 Mitarbeiter mit Hauptsitz in Sevilla. Traditionell stammt Abengoa aus dem Metallbau und das sieht man. Alles sieht robust aus, und spacig! Auf dem Testgelände stehen noch kleinere Solarthermie- und Photovoltaik-Anlagen. Für den Insider sind die Wirkungsprinzipien leicht zu erkennen, für den Neuling leicht erklärt, denn das der Solar Tower funktioniert wie ein großer Solarofen. Die Sonnenstrahlen werden auf ein schwarzes Tankgefäss oben auf der Spitze des Towers gelenkt und erhitzen dort Wasser. Der entstehende Dampf treibt Turbienen an und die Turbinen einen Elektrogenerator. Alles Prinzipien die schon lange technisch umsetzbar waren, eigentlich ist das ganze eine mit Solar betriebene Dampfmaschine. Sieht wirklich hot und gleichzeitig robust aus ... und funktioniert. Abengoa hat gerade den Auftrag zum Bau des größten Solarkraftwerkes der Welt in Abu Dhabi erhalten. Wir werden darüber berichten. Viel Glück für Euch bei Abengoa Solar:-).

Ina is cooking artistically. Today in her hometown and her own kitchen. It has to go fast when she is in spirit. Things are not measured, they just flow into each other as she prepares the broccoli soup. A simple summer dish. It is substantial with a great balance of creaminess and lightness. The meal is satisfying without causing the feeling of heaviness. The decorative topping with mushrooms, parsley and sesame seeds also tastes excellent and is adding texture. Served with some slices of multi-grain bread it makes the perfect summer dish.

Ina kocht künstlerisch, heute in ihrer Heimatstadt. Es muss schnell gehen wenn sie im „flow“ ist. Die Dinge werden nicht gemessen, sie fließen ineinander, bei der Zubereitung der Brokkolisuppe. Ein simples Sommergericht. Es hat Substanz mit einer schönen Balance zwischen Cremig- und Leichtigkeit. Es stellt sich Zufriedenheit ein bei den Speisenden, aber keine Schwere. Die Garnitur aus Pilzen, Petersilie und Sesamsamen ist nicht nur fürs Auge farblich und ornamental angenehm, sondern schmeckt auch lecker. Ein wenig Mehrkornbrot dazu und fertig ist das perfekte kleine Sommermahl.

Ina did learn to point out the essentials within her food creations. Each ingredient is allowed to come through with it’s own taste as well as to play together in harmony with the other ones. The miracle is in the understated complexity that comes across as simplicity at first glance. One is allowed to see it just as food and no to feel guilty to approach it with this basic emotion: appetite. That it is vegetarian food makes the whole thing even better.

Ina hat gelernt in den Gerichten das eigentliche herauszuarbeiten. Jede Zutat darf ansich schmecken und spielt doch mit den anderen Teilnehmern zusammen. Die Schönheit ist eben diese gekonnte Einfachheit. Das Gericht macht nicht vor etwas anderes zu sein als es ist, eben Essen. Und das es vegetarisch ist macht ihre Kochkunst noch schöner. Auf dieses Essen darf man einfach Hunger haben.

Ina did learn cooking as a mother of five. Even when it was more of a duty to feed the hungry crowd on a budget, the essential ingridience “Love” was never missing.

Ina hat als Mutter von fünf Kindern gelernt zu kochen. Das war die Pflicht und nicht die Kür, aber die Liebe für die heranwachsende Meute war als Zutat immer dabei.

Later Ina switched over to vegetarian cooking and opened her own catering business, named simply “Müllers Küche”“ (Mueller’s Kitchen). She lived partially in St. Lucia and got exposed to the Caribbean style of cooking. She worked successfully as the head of the catering team for a traveling circus in Germany and did gig’s in Paris and New York.

Später stellte sie auf vegetarische Küche um und eröffnete ihr eigenes Cateringunternehmen “Müllers Küche”. Sie lebte teilweise in St. Lucia und lernte die karibische Küche kennen. Sie kochte erfolgreich mit einer internationalen Frauenschaft für Zirkusteams in Deutschland und arbeitete auch in Paris und New York.

When one deals with Frank Lloyd Wright, the iconic american architect, one must also deal also with disruptions and unity at the same time. First, even this icon, doesn’t matter how tall it seems, was one thing first: a human being. One that lifed between 1867 and 1959. As banal as this point seems to be, it imay open us up to a view of this person, not seeing him in retrospective, but to think of him as a person progressing in his time. His work and life may then still inspire us today. Frank Lloyd Wright is the person who startet his own carrer in architecture with building privat residences (Prairie houses) and arrived by giving us the Guggenheim Museum in New York. How? A lot of things had to happend, inside and out.

Wer sich mit Frank Lloyd Wright, dem ikonischen Architekten Amerikas beschäftigt , kommt nicht umhin sich mit Brüchen und Einheit gleichzeitig auseinander zusetzen. Nun ist diese “Ikone” erst einmal, egal wie entrückt sie uns ist, ein Mensch. Dieser lebte von 1867 bis 1959. Vielleicht ein banaler Punkt, aber wenn wir versuchen diesen Mensch nicht rückwärts sondern vorwärts zu sehen und zu denken, kann uns nicht nur sein Werk sondern auch sein Weg, Mut und Kraft geben. Ein Mensch der mit seinen “Präiriehäusern” beginnt, wirklich selbst zu bauen und beim Guggenheim Museum ankommt, was ist da passiert? Eine Menge, innen wie außen.

Sie scheinen an ihrem Ort gewachsen zu sein, sie beherrschen ihn nicht, sie gehören zu ihm. Sie verbreiten nicht die Kurzweil des modischen, sie sind profund. Und gerade das ist anziehend und unbequem zugleich. Sie sind eine Herausforderung, noch immer. Da ist einer in seiner Zeit weit vorausgegangen. Das Bei-

Im religiös geprägten Amerika, spielte und spielt sich dies innerhalb eines “transzendent” orientierten intellektuellen Kontextes ab. Die Quelle die Frank Lloyd erreicht hat nennt er Humanität. Diese Quelle können wir alle auf verschiedenen Pfaden erreichen. Auch wenn er seinen Weg in eine Sprache kleidet. die heute vielen fremd erscheinen mag, so ist, wie ich glaube, sein Reisebericht in der Substanz generell immer noch relevant. Frank Lloyd Wright hat uns 1957 in seinem Buch „Ein Testament“ zwei Jahre vor seinem Tod in dem Kapitel, „Humanität“ folgendes hinterlassen: “Ich habe mich ständig auf eine humanere Architektur bezogen und möchte daher versuchen zu erklären, was ich, ein Architekt, unter menschlich verstehe. Wie in der organischen Architektur liegt die Qualität der Menschlichkeit im Menschen. Wie das Sonnensystem nach Lichtjahren berechnet wird soll das innere Licht das sein, was wir als Menschlichkeit bezeichnen. Dieses Element, der Mensch als Licht, liegt jenseits jeder Berechnung. Buddha war als Licht Asiens bekannt; Jesus als das Licht der Welt. Das Sonnenlicht verhält sich zur Natur wie jenes innerer Licht zum Geiste der Menschen: Menschenlicht. Menschlichkeit steht über dem Instinkt. Menschliche Phantasie wird durch dieses innere Licht geboren, 21

The human being as the creator to his own circumstances arrived. This extend of power needs new thoughts. In the religiously influenced atmosphere of america , these thoughts played out in the field of an “transcendent” oriented intellectual context. The scource Frank Lloyd Wright arrived at he called “Humanism”. This source can be reached by us on different paths from different directions. Even if he expresses his views in a language which my seem a bit alien today, I think the core of his message is still relevant for us today. Frank lloyd Wright made the following statement two years before his passing away in the capture: Humanity – The light of the world, of his book “A Testament” : “Constantly I have referred to a more >humane< architecture, so I will try to explain what a humane means to me, an architect. Like organic architecture, the quality of humanity is interior to man. As the solar system is reckoned in terms of light-years, so may the inner light be what we are calling humanity. This element, man as light, is beyond all reckoning. Buddha was known as the light of Asia; Jesus as the light of the world. Sun light is to nature as this interior light is to man’s spirit: Manlight. Manlight is above instinct. Human imagination by way of this interior light is born, conceives, creates: dies but to continue the light of existance only as this light lived in the man. The spirit is illuminated by it and to the extend that his life is this light and it proceeds from him, it in turn illumines his kind. Affirmantions of this light in human life are man’s true happiness.

Sie alle nähren das unauslöschliche Licht in der Seele des Menschen oder werden von ihm genährt. Er kann keine intellektuellen Erwägungen über diese Inspiration hinaus anstellen. Von der Wiege bis zum Grab sehnt sich sein wahres Wesen nach dieser Realität, damit sein Leben nach dem Tode als Licht im Jenseits gesichert ist. Wie das Sonnenlicht um hilflose Gegenstände spielt und ihre Form und ihr Aussehen sichtbar macht, so strömt ein entsprechendes Licht, dessen Symbol die Sonne ist, vom inspirierten Werk der Menschheit aus. Diese innere Licht bürgt dafür, dass des Menschen Architektur, Kunst und Religion eins sind – seine Symbole. Daher können wir die Humanität selbst als Licht bezeichnen, das nie verlöscht. Baser elements in man are subject to this miracle of his own light. Sunrise and sunset are appropiate symbols of man’s existence on earth.

How does all this fit together? It doesn’t! It happend because of a war that the country he lives in once financed. Juan Carlos feelings about all that do explode on canvases, onto walls, find their way into large Mosaic works. Lot’s of his work points to traditions of his former country Guatemala, but also speaks of his new home in Brooklyn, New York. Juan Carlos is always on Edge. He is not silent, he is an activist. This is all but comfortable for an illegal alien.

Die Kunst ist für ihn Überlebensmittel. All das Leben, das er nicht zu haben scheint, spielt sich hier ab. Er erobert sich selbst und eben dieses Leben der Gegensätzte hier auf den Leinwänden. Seine Kunst durchbricht die Mauern, die Ihn umgeben, und viel davon ist in der Öffentlichkeit zu sehen. Er mischt nicht nur seine Farben, er mischt sich ein, mit viel, viel Mut und Liebe.

Always looking back at old snapshots, obsolete, deja vu, caduco, Alter hut. no more the big strugle is there, always standing in front of soon-to-be-shot so-called heroes one is caught in a ring, not unlike Prostitution Which most of the press is more and more becoming back to Stanley and Livingston when it took 2 months for the news to filter out of Africa.
