TAOS O U R M O U N TA I N T A O S S K I V A L L E Y Taos Ski Valley couples a trailblazing spirit with the majesty of the Sangre de Cristo mountains. We are independently owned and we plan on staying that way. As the world’s first and–to date–sole B Corporationcertified ski resort, we focus on using business as a force for good. Know that when you vacation here, not only are you supporting our environmentally friendly efforts and ethical business practices but you’re also picking a place where the sun shines 300+ days a year and an abundance of light powder blankets our hybrid European/New Mexican village. “B”-ING THE CHANGE As the world’s first ski resort to become a certified B Corporation, Taos Ski Valley joins other social and environmental stewards such as Patagonia and Kleen Kanteen in leading the way on using business as a force for good. B Corporations conduct business with a focus on responsibility towards the community, their employees, and the environment. We earned this certification, in part, due to our Taos Verde initiative where we are committed to reducing greenhouse gas emissions, paying more than the minimum wage, partnering with The Nature Conservancy in the Rio Grande Water Fund, incorporating a geothermal system for heating and cooling The Blake hotel, and reducing waste while increasing recycling. We are ever evolving, striving to help our community and the mountains we love.

WORLD-CLASS SNOWSPORTS SCHOOL You don’t have to be an expert to ski Taos, but there is no better place to become one! For those new to snow sports, Taos Ski Valley is investing $8 million to make our Strawberry Hill beginner’s area even more user-friendly. The investment includes a new lift on Strawberry Hill and a complete redesign of our Children’s Center. And, to top it all off, a new gondola will transport people to and from the Children’s Center and the base of the Resort Center. It’s all part of our ongoing commitment to making your on-mountain experience easier and more enjoyable.

ADOBE WONDERLAND As the days get shorter, nights get colder, and snows get deeper, the farolitos crowning our town’s otherworldly adobes flicker. These candlelit paper lanterns cast a golden glow on historical shops, galleries, restaurants, and museums, many of which were built when New Mexico still belonged to Spain. Stroll through this snow-dusted, icicle-encrusted, uniquely southwestern setting. Duck into one of any number of intimate, inviting locales to the sunny smiles of welcoming staff. In Taos, winter warms the soul.

ROCKY MOUNTAIN HIGH The stately peaks soaring above Taos Ski Valley are the southernmost Rockies. To see 13,167-foot Wheeler Peak— New Mexico’s highest—is to believe it! You can summit Wheeler and other peaks via multiple trails. You can also view them from horseback, or from Chair 4, as you head up the mountain for summer alpine fun. Whether on two feet or four, there’s a great deal to do and see here in summer.

OUR TOWN IN SUMMER TO W N O F TA O S
ARTS ALIVE Taos has one of the nation’s most vibrant and diverse small-town art scenes. From festivals dedicated to lilacs, wool, and music—to immersive multi-day art installations—to events such as an annual barn dance, Taos draws diverse local and national talent. Our many museums, galleries, and musical venues—and the resident artists and musicians who fill them—keep Taos on the cutting edge.

RICH CULTURE Centuries before Spanish settlers and intrepid Anglos arrived, a Tiwa-speaking tribe of Native Americans called this area home. They built an impressive pueblo that still stands and is both a UNESCO World Heritage site and National Historic Landmark. The combined histories and traditions of these three groups produced a rich, varied, and living legacy that more recent immigrants have built upon. It sets Taos apart.

HISTORY PAST YET PRESENT Our charming historic district has a small footprint but huge impact. Taos Plaza is the heart of it, bordered by some of our best shops and restaurants. Venture down charming, adobelined streets a few blocks off the plaza for a trip back in time, as well as more delights on which to feast your belly and eyes. And don’t miss the famed San Francisco de Asis Church and plaza, on the south side of town!
