Colors
It all starts with finding the perfect color... The research for choosing the right colors is very important, especially when you create your own hues like we do here at Moni Moni...

Formula Beginning with the natural pigment in powder form, the doses to achieve the right formula are carefully weighed and mixed...
I’m not content with just basic tones. Even classics like black can have a twist!

Mixing
The powder pigments are then carefully mixed and turned into liquid form. The right blend is achieved with the addition of our special natural agents and the perfect water temperature... Moni Moni, Italy 2010
Washing Machine Now the bags are ready to be washed in our giant industrial washing machine that will turn our superfine Italian leather bags to impossible suppleness...

White to Color
Start out the bags absolutely white, with their raw soft leather ready to absorb our pigment. They’re then inserted into the big drums that will process them for hours.
Warning! Do not try this at home

Drying
Our bags are then dried in our state of the art machines that give the right moisture and stable environment for the leather...

Temperature The right temperature is serious business, it needs to be carefully selected and monitored throughout the drying process...
I always like to test the process with a small leather good, in this case a strap, to ensure the proper functioning and coloring... Moni Moni, Italy 2010
Quality Control Et voila’! Lovely shade of black/purple
Much like you bought your bag at a flee market, the leather is worn and supple but no fear of germs!!
Almost done!! Now our handbags are ready to go through our strict quality control, often needing to be stretched and ironed. But that doesn’t mean every bag’s perfect. Pretty much like distressed jeans, stains, discoloration, little holes, rust and missed stitches are characteristics that we strive for and we want you to embrace as well!! Moni Moni, Italy 2010
Final Product At last!! The bag is pristine and you are the first owner of it!! Enjoy!!
