President’s Message
What I’m grateful for this month
I am grateful to our board of directors and especially Win Wolloff for taking the role of acting President of our great organization. In spite of our best efforts, October 4th both Pat and I came down with COVID. First Pat, then me a few days later. Pat has since fully recovered and I am in the process of recovering and expect to be back to 100% soon.

During my time away, Win Wolloff and the board have been working hard and accomplishing a lot. There will be at least one big announcement coming up that will be a huge benefit to all our members and they have been working diligently to guarantee a bright future for TAPPA.
I am also grateful for all my good friends in TAPPA who sent well-wishes, checked in on us and provided support. Those things really made a difference to Pat and I and we are fortunate for the friends we’ve made in the organization.
What would happen if...
When Pat and I came down with COVID, our business came to an immediate halt in a day. Fortunately we had a plan. Our plan wast to have an agreement with a trusted colleague who could take over in an emergency, when we go on vacation or any other time. With one phone call our book of business was immediately in good hands and there was nothing for us to worry about except getting well.
Here’s how it works for us
We have an informal agreement with a trusted colleague that is simple: If one of us needs help for any reason, be it illness, vacation or even a scheduling conflict the other will fill in. Just that simple. In our case no money changes hands, we just take care of it. It’s what fiends do.
You can do this too
I know of a few TAPPA members who do the same thing for each other. That’s what’s great about the organization. You can develop friendships with others who can help you when the time comes.
I encourage you to become friends with as many TAPPA members as you can. I can tell you with complete confidence that every person in the organization wants to help you. Thats our culture. I can think of many instances where these friendships have saved the day.
Don’t miss this
I hope you join us for our speaker this month, Skip Cohen. He’s past president of Rangefinder and WPPI. Past President of Hasselblad USA and has co-authored six books on photography
With gratitude, Chuck Vosburgh TAPPA President
