TEACHING AS PASSION Pedagogy referred to the method and practice of teaching, especially as an academic subject or theoretical concept. In School of Architecture and Built Environment, we embraced the Joint Productive Activity as the effective pedagogy, where Teacher and Students producing together - facilitate learning through joint productive activity among teacher and students. Joint activity and discourse allow the highest level of academic achievement: using formal, “schooled,” or “scientific” ideas to solve practical, real world problems.

The constant connection of schooled concepts and everyday concepts is basic to the process by which mature schooled thinkers understand the world. Teaching and learning through “joint productive activity” is cross-cultural, typically human, and probably “hardwired.” This kind of “mentoring” and “learning in action” is characteristic of our learning environment. Our passionate academicians had shared the implementation of our practice with international institution and receiving acknowledgement from QS Reimagining Education Star Awards 2015 as one of the shortlisted innovations around the world.

Asst.Prof. Teoh Chee Keong as the pioneer academician who had lead the Kaktao 46 project in Sepetang, Perak, was invited by National University of Singapore to share the experience.
