Chapter 16. Clear Vision Make Strong Movements In the time that I have been observing politics, many political movements have come and gone. The 2010s was perhaps the most politically heated period in the West since two generations ago, with multiple movements competing for attention at any time. And one thing I have observed is that movements with a clear purpose and plan tend to be much more successful than those without.
The movement I would rate as most successful has to be the gay marriage rights movement. This was a movement with a clear goal, and a clear plan to achieve it. The goal was simply to change the law so that two people of the same gender can get married, and the plan was to achieve this via the court system, representative democracy, or alternatively, referendum (which was generally not preferred 143
