VISION
Clean horizontal lines carve through the Bel Air hilltop with this developer property. Large open plan spaces create connection between various functions in the House. while at the same time promoting the view towards downtown Los Angeles The design offers superb views of down town Los Angeles. With a clean and minimalist palette.
My role as lead concept designer on the project (with 1 junior architect below me) was to develop the spatial layout, interior design & archi tecture. Some unique key areas developed for this 3 storey ,5bedroom home included a gym & spa, indoor cinema, study, guest villa & out door barbecue area.
The project was taken from Concept - Detailed design under my lead.

VISION
As an extremely High-end product, the project required careful consid eration to planning and detailing.
The refinement of an infinity edge pool overlooking the Los Angeles skyline and integrated with landscaping, The introduction of bespoke external brass screens- to control daylighting and privacy & careful se lection of material palette are partly the reason for the projects success.
Near completion (as seen in the photos) The project has remained as true to the initial vision and render for the developer client.
BVLGARI MANSIONS -UAE
VISION
The project consist of 12 High end villas situated along the ocean edge of jumeirah bay island. 5x 6bedrooms & 7x 5 bedroom Mansions with pool
The client required a modern strong aesthetic that creates drama for the end user. In response the architecture utelises warm stone and bronze as part of a rich material palette. The building also dramatizes form with cantilevered projecting spaces at the forecourt/arrival and rear facade overlooking the pool. Transparency and connection are the key informants to the spatial arrangement(s). All large “public “ areas at ground level are connected and open and have views towards the ocean.
My role as lead designer was to create a unique aesthetic and home that would draw inspiration from local architecture , but also conteporizes it for a modern UAE resident.

900 STRADELLA -LA
VISION
A Modern home along the hilltop of Bell Airs stradella road. The project focuses on transparency & visual connection between all spaces and the Pool terrace with focused view towards Los Angeles downtown skyline.
The use of “mass” & pocket walls to conceal services, storage and for win dows to slide into allows the home to truly create an uncluttered feel, with more importantly a strong indoor/outdoor connection.
The introduction of timber screening also promoted privacy, broke the mass and added a level of warmth to the terrazzo clad residence.
My role was to support the lead architect in the early stages of my career, developing particular zones within the project - in architecture, planning & interior design
VISION
The project required careful consideration in regards to openness and promoting natural daylight within the spaces.
A strategy of utelising deeper soffits and slabs was taken to increase horizontal beams and minimize the requirement for vertical columns. this also allowed columns at corners to be minimized and so not com pete with he view.
The architectural palette was kept minimal- with feature bronze and timber in select areas.

PRIVATE VILLA-UAE
VISION
This luxury home situated along the beach front in the UAE, serves as the holiday home for a private client and various family members. Resultantly the concept required a hotel/resort approach whereby the home be segmented into various Villas, with large communal facilities for all members to enjoy.
A large linear pool connected by landscaping and terraces and various lev els leading to the beach serves as the connective tissue for all programs and living spaces( of the various families)
The architecture and planning also mimics a resort- with the integration of nature within the various building programs , indoor-outdoor feel, play with light and texture and use of rustic material. Warm bronze is also introduced to refine elements within the architecture. While the architecture uses massing to define space and circulation

PRIVATE VILLA -UAE1.4
VISION
As lead designer on the project, my goal above the tasks of overall design, management and planning was to create a home that brings in the sophistication and strategic minimalism of a resort hotel.
In order to do so each instance of landscape both in and out of the building was curated for view and experience, with a large planted lightweight in the main public lounge and kitchen a and stair leading to roof terrace.
Additionally Luxury comfort such as BOH movement and services being planned discretely, the minimizing of doors within view and rather using wall planes to conceal threshold transitions and various outdoor activity spaces within the pool along the beach promote serenity and peacefulness for the end user
PINETREE MIAMI
VISION
A site with an extremely narrow presence, required a unique take on this luxury home.
Initially the use of an internal glazed courtyard was proposed to act as a feature to the home, bringing in natural light & to“break” the length from arrival- to waterfront at the properties rear.- Laterthisaspect removedbyclient rather to allow emphasis along the waterfront/ ocean edge and to reduce cost.
The arrival experience was developed to have a curated -natural feel with the integration of lush green Miami style planting and a semi-court yard condition with screen at entry
ROLESTAGE GFABUILDING
/PINETREE MIAMI
VISION
The internal public space reduced in length ( from once having a Courtyard) to having a open plan feature staircase, lounge area and kitchen/dining. In so doing, the available space at the rear of the site allowed for a larger pool terrace BBQ& entertainment areas in close proximity to the waters edge
My role as an architect (within a team of 3) was to look at various planning conditions for the site -notably due to the complexity created by its narrow ness and regulation, general planning of various areas & enhancing the interrelation of spaces.
A unique aspect to the design is the integration of a basketball( halfcourt) and the introduction to a sliding board from first floor directly into the swimming pool

LA PAZ- DR
VISION
An island retreat for the elite. The compound was designed with 2 main houses and a football field with clubhouse.
The concept played on light and shadow produced by the lush Surrounding tropical vegetation. In so doing the building introduces pockets of greenery and a larger internal outdoor courtyard.
The primary residence was designed with generous lounge spaces and bedrooms that overlook the ocean directly. At the sea edge is a private pool clubhouse to entertain guests and guest villa for extended family and friend.
The materiality focuses on the regions native coral stone. Which Allowed the homes to feel contemporary but also grounded in the local aesthetic. A unique finish introduced for the project was copper screens that would patina overtime -in the proximity to the ocean.

VISION
At the heart of a new flagship waterfront development in Belgrade, Ser bia. This G+13 mixed used development interprets an existing contextual vernacular in a modern and contemporary way.
The site comes with some complexity in shape, but one major attribute A public gardens and park on one side. This served as a key driver to the apartment layouts and organization directing views to the park.
The client also required a close eye on budget- which resulted in a refined approach to slab and wall expression over elaborate and more costly materials. Also insuring and overall efficiency and GFA was maintained,
My role on the project included massing studies, general layouts and insuring design efficiency and feasibility.

VISION
These 11 unique townhouses for a developer client required a “new and different “ living environment for the end user and a new aesthetic for the UAE. This included 9 4Bed & 2 5B ed typologies
As lead designer on the project- introducing levels of transparency and cross connection in the design was key. The townhouses have split level living/ dining and entertainment spaces which overlook each other and feel connected at all times. A large external ground floor terrace & roof terrace maximize views to the rear and towards the Burj Khalifa.
To create a unique aesthetic and form a pitch was introduced both ex ternally and for internal spaces. & for materiality a warm bronze stand ing seam cladding applied. The emphasis depth and balance a light screening system for the garage was complemented with planting - drawing ones eye into the entrance
ORASCOM MIXED USE
VISION
The mixed-use zone located in the heart of Cairo, serves as the site for a new residential development complex The design focused on breaking up the allocated plot GFA into two mid rise residential towers with a shared basement . Some complexity existed in the grading of the site and requirement to step the basement.
The living experience maximizes views towards the pyramids. The apartments are designed as split level duplexes with large terraces. This allows each apartment to have an individual outdoor space above and adjacent unit. A conscious approach to cost was implemented through clever recessing of the building facade and expression of slabs with a render finish.
My role on the project included massing studies, general layouts and insuring design efficiency and feasibility.

CROWNE HOTEL+CASINO
VISION
A new landmark for the city of Sydney. This multistory tower houses a Casino, restaurants, entertainment decks, hotel rooms and apartments on the upper floors.
The concept revolved around the scales of a reptile OR fish and the ways light can play off the skin at various times in the day to create intense shimmer and reflection.
The building separates itself into 3 distinct public areas; at ground level, middle level pool and entertainment deck and upper observation deck level. The architectural mass also unconventionally lends itself for a more sculptural curved form on a recti linear base.
My role as a junior architect was to investigate various massings for the overall form and facade,

VISION
The Architectural concept explores the expression of shifting planes and stacked volumes. The facade’s simple modularity is created to contrast with its adjacent neighbor building (by the same developer)
An exterior of oversized floor to ceiling glass panes mixed with a min imal blend of pure-white exterior and travertine surfaces are used to compliment the the interior planning. Quality of space, natural daylight, views and large open spaces determined the layout’s simplicity and luxurious undertone. It was an important factor to appoint every unit the sense of grandeur as one walks in the apartment.
Within the limited tome for this concept design- my key focus was to develop the spatial planning of the large public spaces ( notably including the pool and entertainment deck). Additionally resolving the parking strategy and insuring the overall building efficiency was within the required GFA/ BUA considerations of the developer.

Located and developed on the last remaining vacant plot within dibai Marina. This developed led project required a timless architecture that responded to the surrounding towers and created a sophisticated aes thic in their ethos. The floorplate was designed for high efficiency and targeted views towards Dubai marina.
The arrival experience also differs itself from its neighboring plots. elevated, vistiors and residents alike transend a ramp to a drop off area and arrival lobby with direct views to the Marina.

NEOM ECO MARINA
VISION
NEOM, a key gateway to the future, is situated along the Western shore of the Red Sea surrounded by mountains. A closer examination of this mountainous topography reveals the formation of naturally occurring fractal pathways. This observation, inspired the creation of a fractalized Marina, in which one dock branches into smaller ones, creating a complex floating dock network.
Utilizing the resultant subdivided form, different Programmatic functions were zoned ,Segregated pools of water emerge from intersecting pathways, which may be employed for Snorkeling and other Marine activities.
Furthermore, the conjoint yacht club reflects a similar geometry of Splitting planes, offering different inhabitable levels from which the surrounding landscape - the inspiration for this Concept - can be fully appreciated. VISION
This unique street experience is to be the first of its kind within the Dubai context.
A F&B street with vibrant activities, events and live music. Modelled on the bustling streets of F&B streets of Asia, New orleans and Texas.
The brief required the subdivision and re-purposing of ground floor office space into F&B outlets for approx 100-150m2. And the planning and strategy of the external space for various event scenarios over time.
It also required a more detailed look into a unique design for the street space itself- arrival ,screening and platform(performance space) + sculpture activations along the length of the development. The core intent to have a vibrancy and longevity for the spaces - both in the day and night.

To develop the scheme -Sketches were developed outlining a strong con cept and strategies which could be implemented.
The concept introduced -”fingers” to the existing building as new build. so increasing the available area for office space. This reduced the current oversized and underused courtyard- in favor of smaller courtyards and usable space between buildings- key within the UAE region.
Additionally views towards the ocean were maximized and the sales locat ed along this edge for enhanced customer experience.

The ability to develop graphic masterplan sketches for clients/ develop ers has proven very successful over the years.
Typically done on IPad, The sketches developed are to scale and cor rect to GFA. This method of communication allows for quick variation s in the design and graphically represents the space in a qualitative manner to the client.
Here adjacent a re-envisioning of the clients sales center site- as a hotel and resort. The sketch was done to propose the maximum value for the site . beyond what the client currently required.

MCDONALDS OASIS
VISION
Drawing inspiration for the Prada Marfa Campaign of 2005. I had al ways imagined why not have one of the most iconic fast food outlets in one of the most remote locations.
For the design I focused on creating a modern Mcdonalds outlet- and introducing the recognizable Golden Arches as part of the architecture. For this I interpreted the Arches as a structural and 3dimensional item that would stand under a much more elegant floating roof.
The integration of Lighting along the entry point also allowed for the opportunity to visually represent the brand.
The materiality introduces polished and raw concrete for the structure and form & a light timber inlay for the arches.

Understanding the importance of brand recognition and location- no one does it better than starbucks.
Here I focused on a unique remote location of the swamp lands in Alabha ma. A terrain unexperienced and foreign to most. Except the very few who, travel the terrain- fishing, exploring or conserving on a daily basis.
Of course they need their daily cuppa too... and where better than your local starbucks.

It then begs the question: How far would you go to get that elusive pair of sneakers you’ve always wanted ?
This concept places a Nike store within the frozen lakes of Beaverton Oregon, The building is minimalist- letting the product animate the facade. The architecture uses timber framing for structure and aes thetic and to serves as display for the sneakers. VISION
A modern take on a cabin in the woods & the prevalence of Netflix as a weekend pass time.
Here an ultra contemporary villa is designed for the woods. With a high level living tier with glass face over looking a pool. The Pool acts as modern day camp fire with a building facade that allows for projection and recreational viewing.
The lower tier of the building is more heavy in its massing to balance the facade+ materiality. a private wing is also provided for additional visitors, friends and family.
In keeping with a cabin theme- the interior facades and ceiling details are milled timber louvers and framing.
At the lowest level a entertainment deck, outdoor barbecue and fire place can be found.
