Cristina M. Trápaga Hacker ’18

Cristina M. Trápaga Hacker graduated from Harvard College in 2022. She graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and a secondary in Global Health and Health Policy. At TASIS Dorado, Cristina was the president of the National Honor Society. She also participated in various clubs and activities, including the National French Honor Society, peer tutoring, and Model United Nations. Cristina enjoyed athletics at TASIS Dorado as a member of the swimming and soccer teams. She was a high honor roll student who was named the 2018 U.S. Presidential Scholar, National AP Scholar, and National Hispanic Scholar.

At Harvard, Cristina served as the co-president of the Harvard Organization for Latin America, the Harvard Candela Latin Dance Troupe, and the co-vice president of Harvard Latinos in Health Careers. She volunteered with the Harvard Chapter of MEDLIFE and the Pets as Therapy program. While at Harvard, Cristina also worked as a research assistant at the Nelson Laboratory at Boston Children’s Hospital. Specifically, she participated in the Bangladesh Early Adversity Neuroimaging Project, which seeks to address how adversity early on in life can affect cognitive development.

Cristina is the clinical research coordinator for the Massachusetts General Hospital Global Neurology Research Group. Some of the group’s current research includes the social determinants of health in multiple sclerosis, the impact of neuromyelitis optica on employment, and the psychosocial outcomes related to epilepsy. Cristina is also applying to medical school with plans to enroll in the fall of 2024.
