Foreword . Dedication . Acknowledgement ‌ Dear boys and girls, It all (think: creating this book) started when I landed a job as Greg’s personal assistant. Greg is the most polite, humble kid on the earth who, despite going through so much sh*t (How many surgeries, Greg? Like 36? sh*t, no joke), is the most positive and inspiring kid. One year in middle school and 3 years in high school with him taught me a lot, not just about American history, English literature or personal finance. It taught me a lot about the secret or not-so-secret life of teenagers. Being in the classroom every day with you guys, I was like the uninvited guest to your chit-chats about last night, your complaints about stupid sh*t, and your feelings of sadness and happiness. I also saw how smart you all are. I saw all of you coming to school looking like zombies after a long night most likely spent on the phone texting. I saw your anxiety before taking a test. I heard you talking sh*t about your teacher, and I saw you absolutely love the same teacher the next day. I was there seeing your facial expressions when something upset you or made you happy. I loved observing your attitudes; it was so much fun. I was there when you were choosing your prom dress or when you got all upset about your ex dating a new girl. I loved seeing you, the book nuts walking with fiction books all the time and reading every time you had a free moment. Yeah, book nuts still exist! I loved when you shared your views

about topics discussed in class. You WOWed me so many times. I loved the music appreciation class where you shared your life stories and frustrations through music. I loved seeing you practice sports so hard and the joy you felt from beating other teams later. Or not. You all had good and bad days, but all of you were trying very hard to win your own everyday battles. You really are the real fighters! You guys all rock! Love you, miss you Ms. T Hey and thank you!

Ok, to be completely honest with you, I didn’t like taking the elevator after you had been vaping in it. Geez.

Introduction #1 How I chose the title Me giving Greg sugar - killer story after he ate the whole bag of candy! Greg : This is good sh*t, Ms. T. Me: (rolling my eyes ) Me : What’s new, Tim? Tim (school security): Same sh*t every day, Ms.T, same sh*t.

It is very obvious that everybody (like every, everybody) from students to adults like to use this special word, no kidding. So please, the ones who don’t use the word (yah right), don’t be offended because I almost feel like this word has some kind of healing power to us. No sh*t.  Do you feel sometimes too, like there is too much sh*t everywhere in our life? Then, stay with me, and let’s

fix that sh*t

6

Introduction #2 You are about to find out how to make your life more proactive and how to beat the boredom, enrich your life and feel better. These ideas will help you better understand the world and people around you and finally yourself.

Curb one step Your at the time ego 7

Introduction #3 Open this book anytime, anywhere, at any page. Read one line or the whole page. Analyze every word from left to the right. Talk, ask questions and say what you want to say. You may disagree, and that’s OK. If this little book

makes you think and talk, opens your mind, shifts your life to the better, makes you feel happy & smile, I say “hats down.” You just learned how to

fix that sh*t

LOVE?

Does love hurt? Shit it does. If it doesn’t, it must be something else. Illusion maybe? It doesn’t matter how many girls or boys you are going to date in your life, every single time you break up – and you sure will, it’s going to hurt. Cry it out loud & move on. One day you will bump into your dream prince or princess, you will eventually marry that “frog”, have kids and one messy, loud house. You will get all of it. Promise. One of the new favorite sayings these day is “Kindness is the new cool It shows us how much we all need this quality in our life. With all the bad that is happening all around the world, at the end of the day, you realize what really matters. Why am I talking about kindness if this book is about curbing your ego? Girls and boys, curbing your ego is like molding and creating yourself. Growing your good qualities and working on the ones that need improvement - like brushing your teeth. It is having a positive attitude toward the world around you and valuing all humans regardless of their backgrounds. A good start would be with your siblings, parents, friends and teachers. Learn how to treat each other with respect, even on bad days. Appreciate people in your life because

Now listen good: I promise this is the last smarty-pants page. There always will be news or happenings in your home, school, city, neighborhood or world that are sad enough to make you feel upset, depressed, angry or unhappy. Some of these negative and unfortunate events can be fixed and some can’t. Face those challenges by being positive and strong. Be the FIGHTER! Don’t give up on your family, friends, neighbors, and the whole world. Start within yourself; do something positive every day, like smile. We old folks love you very much, even on the days you dislike just about everything about us. We love your crazy youthfulness, energy and smartness. We depend on you as much as you depend on us, because only TOGETHER, we can make the world a better place to live while driving each other nuts.

Love, your parents
