Private Secondary School KLASIKA Research Days “đ?œś, đ?œˇ ‌â€? 2017 Study and research area „ đ??‹ – the most beautiful numberâ€? AIMS: ď ś Development and formation of skills enabling students to use information technologies efficiently. ď ś Extension of practical use of mathematical knowledge and skills. ď ś Development of students ability to analyze the information and make decisions thus enabling them to independently “discoverâ€? the properties of mathematical objects. ď ś Practice of pair work.
TASKS: ď ś To extend students knowledge on the Fibonacci serias, Golden ratio and Fibonacci spiral by watching and discussing a presentation; ď ś To teach the students to use the technologies effectively to fulfil the tasks (3D program SKETCHUP and 3D printer); ď ś Actualize the knowledge and skills in math and biologie, culture, architecture, music, business; ď ś To develop the skills to draw the conclusions ; ď ś To practice skills to use relevant terminology in English.

Student’s worksheet Name, surname, form______________________________
Most scientists have come to the conclusion that PHI is the most beautiful and complete number in the world. This number is also called the “Golden section or to commemorate the ancient Greek sculptor Phidias who first applied it to the design of sculptures for the Parthenon.
1. Calculate and write the next 5 numbers in the Fibonacci series : 1; 1; 2; 3; 5; 8; 13; 21; _____________________________________________________________________ 2. Calculate the 13th number of the obtained series in relation to the 12th number.
3. Choose any two numbers, then form a series in accordance with Fibonacci series. ______________________________________________________________________________ 4. Calculate the 10th number of the obtained series in relation to the 9th number.
5. Write down your observations!
6. Do an experiment! Carry out the necessary measurements (see the figure) and calculate Đ?+Đ’ the relation Đ’ .
Fill in the table!
A (cm) B (cm)
Where is
A+B (cm)
