TAT TERSALLS O CTOBER YEARLING S ALE, 2020
“one of the most extraordinary bloodstock sales held this millennium” Carl Ev an s, EBN, October 2020
A message of thanks... While 2020 was a year which few will remember fondly, it was also a year that many can look back on with immense pride. Pride not only in a collective determination to overcome unprecedented obstacles, but also in a shared confidence to continue to offer the highest quality thoroughbreds to a global audience come what may. The sense of gratitude felt by all of us at Tattersalls in 2020 for the overwhelming support we received from yearling vendors throughout Britain, Ireland and further afield, was matched only by our resolve to explore every possible way in which to provide as vibrant a yearling market as possible. As we approach the 2021 yearling inspection season still surrounded by uncertainty, this resolve is stronger than ever, reinforced by the extraordinary and unrivalled resilience of last year’s Tattersalls October Yearling Sale which remains fresh in everyone’s minds. Book 1 of the October Yearling Sale continues to reinforce its global reputation as arguably the world’s most prestigious yearling sale annually attracting so many of the sport’s leading international owners, while Book 2 achieved 2020 returns second to none in Europe except Book 1. The Tattersalls October Yearling Sale remains the industry benchmark, showcasing so many of the world’s finest yearlings to a uniquely diverse cast of buyers at our Park Paddocks base in Newmarket, the historic hub of European racing and breeding.
Our commitment to attracting the finest yearlings to Tattersalls remains absolute. In 2021 we will be enhancing our yearling sale portfolio by replacing the Ascot Yearling Sale with a new Park Paddocks based fixture, the Tattersalls Somerville Yearling Sale, named after Somerville Tattersall, one of the most influential figures in our rich 255 year history, while the Tattersalls Ireland September Yearling Sale continues to strengthen its global reputation having also significantly outperformed the market in 2020.
“Our commitment to attracting the finest yearlings to Tattersalls remains absolute” We look forward to working with you to achieve the best possible returns for your yearlings at any of the extensive portfolio of Tattersalls yearling sales in both Britain and Ireland and as ever we thank you for your unwavering support.
