Speakers/Topics: From time to time issues/need to know information will present itself that TAUD feels needs to be addressed in a timely manner. When this occurs TAUD will take the opportunity at one of our conference sessions to inform our members of the issue. Also, there are times when simply the unexpected occurs. This is why we want to let you know the Conference Guide includes the highlights of a conference; the date and location of the conference; hotel specifics; and registration forms for each conference. TAUD strongly recommends that you visit our web site at www.taud.org for a complete agenda including session times prior to the conference. You may also call our office at 615-896-9022 and request a copy by e-mail or fax. TAUD Staff will be happy to assist you with getting a complete agenda. Registration: You may register for any of the six conferences by completing the appropriate registration form provided in the conference & event guide. Please make copies of the registration form for more registrants as needed if the space is not provided on the form. You may fax completed forms with your credit card information to: (615) 898-8283, or mail forms with payment to: TAUD, P.O. Box 8041, Murfreesboro, TN 37133-8041. For your convenience, conference registrations and payment may be completed electronically on our web site at: www.taud.org. Hotel Reservations: Hotel information is listed for each conference. We encourage you to make reservations early as room blocks fill up quickly. Rates are established with the hotels that are listed. Please mention that you are with TAUD when making your reservations to receive the discounted rate. TAUD Refund Policy: Refunds will be issued in full, less a $50 processing fee, when cancellation is received in writing at least 15 working days prior to the conference. Requests received at least 5 days before the conference will be eligible for half of the payment. No refunds will be issued within 5 days prior to the conference as numbers have already been submitted to the host venue. New Commissioners A new utility district commissioner must attend a minimum of 12 hours of commissioner training and education within one year of the initial appointment or election to the board of commissioners. Incumbent Commissioners An incumbent utility district commissioner holding office on the effective date of this legislation must attend a minimum of 12 hours of commissioner training and education prior to or within one year of the reappointment or reelection. After receiving initial training, each commissioner shall attend a minimum of twelve (12) hours of continuing education (CE) every three years from their initial continuing education. The three year continuing education period begins January 1 after the year the commissioner completed or is required to complete the initial training and education requirements. Commissioner Training and Continuing Education will be paid for by the utility districts.

The TAUD Administrative Professionals (TAP) Program is designed to promote and educate those striving for administrative excellence. We believe the TAP program sets a higher standard for utility office personnel. The certification requirements for the program are a series of topics relevant to the skills necessary to become an Administrative Professional in the utility industry.
