ALL THE BUILDINGS ON BARAKHAMBA ROAD HAS FACADES PARALLEL TO THE ROAD , HENCE INTERACTING WITH IT. BUT A BUILDING ON INTERSECTION HAVE TO INTERACT WITH MORE THAN ONE DIRECTION. ALSO, A BUILDING ORIENTED AT A DIFFERENT ANGLE CUT DOWN THE MONOTONOUS SIGHT AND THUS MAKES IT TO RISE UP IN THE CONTEXT.

INTRODUCTION A QUAINT HISTORICAL TOWN, MAHESHWAR, DESCENDS ITSELF TO THE RIVER NARMADA WITH A SERIES OF GHATS. SPILLED AROUND INTER-MITTENTLY ARE SEVERAL TEMPLES, LARGE AND SMALL, WITH A STORY OF THEIR OWN AS SACRED AS THAT OF THE TOWN ITSELF. RULED BY A SAINTLY FIGURE, AHILYA DEVI, THE TOWN PERSONIFIES THE SIMPLICITY, NOT ONLY IN STONE BUT ALSO IN PEOPLE’S CONDUCT AND LIFESTYLE. CONTAINED WITHIN FORT WALLS THAT CAN BE DATED BACK TO 4TH C B.C., IT CONTAINS A SMALL AND FUNCTIONAL HOUSE WITH A COURT-YARD, THE PALACE AND A COLLECTION OF TEMPLES BOTH AS OLD AS THE FORT WALLS AND RECENT CONSTRUCTIONS TRYING TO MATCH THE BEAUTY OF THE OLD.
