TLW's Foundation Helps Fuel Philanthropy

The Wisconsin Tavern League Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that provides financial support for thousands of Wisconsin charities. Through many varied fundraisers throughout the state, it helps fuel such philanthropic efforts as VetsRoll and Children of Restaurant Employees, as well as the Tavern League’s SafeRide Program. Thanks to a matching funds program, the Foundation supports local tavern leagues and individuals in their efforts to benefit organizations and people in need by offering up to $2,000 in matching state funds from the TLW.

The TLW and its members’ impact is tremendous when it comes to helping charities across the state. For example, the total amount of donations in 2020 was more than $10 million in support of over 11,000 charities throughout Wisconsin. “Local taverns, bars and restaurants have a long history in Wisconsin as a gathering place for celebrating or commiserating while spending time with friends,” says Pete Madland, TLW outreach director. “Every member of the TLW lives and works in their community. And they believe in supporting efforts to make their community an even better place to live and work.”
