Tax Business Ltd Acquisition International speaks to Ken Voller about their award winning work ethic.
Ken Voller commented: “I am the Director of Tax Business Ltd, providing a local business and tax advisory service to clients, based in Romsey, Hampshire and predominantly working along the South Coast. “The business was set up approximately nine years ago when I resigned as the Director of Taxation Services at BDO Stoy Hayward (as it was then!) in Southampton. Starting out offering taxation advice and compliance services from the converted summerhouse at the bottom of my garden, the company now operates from offices in Romsey. Clients are diverse, ranging from sole traders, small and medium companies, High Net Worth Individuals and a number of international organisations, and the work done covers basic accountancy and taxation compliance and advice, through to PAYE/payroll compliance and advisory work to clients and other accountants. “Although specialising in employment taxes, I recognised that there were plenty of people out there who do not want to avoid paying tax by using schemes and arrangements, but want to ‘get it right’ and sleep at night! “It is always very pleasing to be recognised for doing a good job, and the award is the icing on the cake! “During 2013, I have been involved in a number of significant projects including the reorganisation of a business’s corporate struc-
ture, and the mitigation of potential Capital Gains Tax liabilities for an individual.

“Teamworking is vital to everything that I do as, although I do all of the advisory and client facing work myself, I rely on others to pull together with me in order to ensure that everything is dealt with in a timely and efficient way. This ranges from the necessary bookkeeping and accountancy work, through to all the administrative support to make sure that clients feel that they are the most important people in the world! As, indeed, they are! “Tax Advising has almost become a dirty phrase recently due to adverse press commentary concerning high profile ‘Avoidance’ and ‘Evasion’. However, there is still scope for the proper organisation of a person’s affairs in order to pay the ‘right’ tax using legislation in the way that it has always been intended. “More people are comfortable with the ‘getting it right’ view and the trend seems to be a move towards this and basic compliance, rather than using convoluted arrangements to attempt to reduce tax beyond its natural extent. “I cannot predict the future, but hope and expect to continue to do more of whatever it is that I am already doing for my existing and future clients!”
