Design Element The umlaut “i” is designed to avoid mispronunciation of the brand name (early tests found some people referring to the brand name as “Technic”). This distressing of the “i” glyph distinguished the final two letters of the brand name, which provides an additional avenue for creative manipulation in advertising and corporate branding.
