PROJECT GOALS: TO DESIGN A SMALL BUILDING WITH COMMERCIAL SPACE FOR AN ORGANIC MARKET ON THE BOTTOM FLOOR WITH LIVING SPACE ABOVE. FOCUS ON MAXIMIZING LIGHT, AIRFLOW, AND USABILITY OF SPACE.

BECAUSE I WAS DESIGNING AN ORGANIC MARKET, I DREW INSPIRATION FROM LOCAL ITALIAN CUISINE AND FRESH FOODS. MANY OF THE ARCHITECTURAL DETAILS WERE ALSO INFLUENCED BY OTHER EUROPEAN CITIES. FOR EXAMPLE, TERRACES SEEN IN PADUA, ITALY (right).

GOAT SPACE LOCATION: KALU YALA, TRÉS BRAZOS VALLEY, PANAMA OBJECTIVES: TO ADDRESS THE CALCIUM DEFICIENCY IN KALU YALA RESIDENTS BY INTRODUCING GOATS TO THE COMMUNITY. PROVIDE THE NECESSARY INFRASTRUCTURE TO SUSTAIN GOATS. TEAM: DEVIN RUMMEL, BUSINESS INTERN, ALEX BERDAT, AGRICULTURE INTERN, AND SHANE SMITH, BIOLOGY INTERN.
