VISION and

VALUES

MISSION ENCOUNTER GOD EQUIP BELIEVERS ENGAGE THE WORLD Dear Taylors Family, After Jesus was resurrected from the dead, He appeared to His disciples on a mountain near His headquarters in Galilee. It was hard for many of those followers to conceive, but the dramatic events of Jerusalem had changed their lives. Standing before them was both the suffering leader Who hung on a cross as well as the gloriously-alive Lord. They had run from the former but now worshiped the Risen Christ. It was then that Jesus cast a vision for how His ministry would be continued to all people everywhere to the end of the age. Jesus’ mission that day was clear, "Go therefore and make disciples of all nations (people groups), baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you" (Matthew 28:19-20). A few days after Taylors celebrates Jesus' resurrection in 2016, we will revisit that day when Jesus not only gave His mission to Peter, James, John and the rest of the disciples, but to us as well. In a sermon series that will take us through May, we will embrace what I believe is Jesus' vision for our church as well as uncover the values that strengthen that vision. Through much time, prayer and work, I and our ministerial team are ready to present to you our new mission statement that aligns with what took place on that mountain long ago. Here is the statement you'll be hearing much about in the days ahead: "We as a church seek to make disciples as we encounter God, equip believers, and engage the world." We'll not only explore what this mission means, but also reveal the seven values we've crafted that will give it direction, focus and strength. I couldn't be more excited to share our vision and values that will ignite our ministry in the spring and summer, and that shapes our plans for the fall and beyond. What I will provide for you should be more than strategic points on paper, but the guiding principles of our ministry and mission for years to come. Just as Jesus transformed the lives of those followers, invested in them and sent them out, He does the same today. What a wonderful way to celebrate the meaning of Easter -- by taking part in the very same vision given from a mountain in Galilee long ago. Be in prayer. Be ready to listen and learn. Be ready to go. It's going to be a great few weeks together. Paul Jimenez, Pastor

Freedom Celebration Taylors Worship Ministry Friday, July 1, 7:30 pm TD Stage at the Peace Center, Greenville

We invite you to join us, with a heart of expectation, as we worship Jesus together on Sunday, April 10, at 7:00 pm. Childcare available for birth to age five. One of the important values of our church is expectant worship – we come to worship, to actively participate in seeking God and praising Him together, with an expectant heart that we will truly encounter Him, think on Him, learn from Him, be changed and sent out by Him. We do that every Sunday morning, but also in special worship nights throughout the year. These evenings together give us extended time and the ability to focus more intently on particular aspects of God’s character and His work in us. One such worship night is coming on April 10, led by the Worship Choir, Band, Taylors Orchestra, and the Regeneration Student Choir. The focus of this worship night will be the sufficiency of Christ for everything we need. Through Christ, God has fulfilled His promise to redeem us and to do the work of making us like Jesus. Consider these verses from 2 Peter 1:3-4: His divine power has granted to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of him who called us to his own glory and excellence, by which he has granted to us his precious and very great promises, so that through them you may become partakers of the divine nature, having escaped from the corruption that is in the world because of sinful desire. The theme “Let It Be Jesus” challenges us to rely on the sufficiency of Jesus for our salvation, our righteousness, our protection, our hope in suffering, our perseverance in trial, our power in weakness, and our boldness in sharing the gospel. As the Apostle Paul proclaimed, “For me, to live is Christ.” (Philippians 1:21) During the 5th Century, St. Patrick was seeking to carry the gospel throughout Ireland. As a supplication for both protection and guidance he wrote a prayer that has been offered up to the present day. One of the latter verses sums up the theme of “Let it Be Jesus.” Christ with me, Christ before me, Christ behind me, Christ within me, Christ beneath me, Christ above me, Christ at my right, Christ at my left, Christ in the heart of everyone who thinks of me, Christ in the mouth of everyone who speaks to me, Christ in every eye that sees me, Christ in every ear that hears me. Sunday, May 1, 6 pm Presented by Taylors Children's Choirs Childcare for Birth through Age Five

Calling on the super-powered Fruit of the Spirit available to every follower of Christ, the Agape League superheroes soon find themselves facing a problem within their own ranks. Will they be able to find a solution?

College REACH Team in Salt Lake Though one of the most spectacular places in the world, the Salt Lake City valley is one of the most unreached areas in the world. During Spring Break, a group of students and leaders from our Taylors College partnered with Travis Kerns and the North American Mission Board to work with church planters in the Salt Lake area. One of the biggest opportunities was inviting college students at BYU to an evangelical Bible study on campus. Of the 35,000 students on campus, around 60 are believers in Christ! — Brooks, Minister of College

"During the Salt Lake City REACH Trip, our team served local church plants through canvassing neighborhoods or cleaning and light labor. We visited several Latter Day Saints institutions such as Brigham Young University and Temple Square where we were able to share the love and forgiveness found in Jesus.” — Victoria, Junior Greenville Tech

"The trip to Utah was amazing. It really opened my eyes to the reality of spiritual warfare and taught me more about what sharing the gospel looks like at street level. God is beginning to work in Salt Lake City but the church still has a lot of ground to cover. Please pray God will push the darkness in Salt Lake City and reveal the truth of the gospel to the spiritually blind.” — Nathan, Junior, North Greenville University
