Our Alaska Partnership
James and Jennifer Bodolosky, along with their family, have answered the call to be a part of God establishing His Name and His Church in Alaska. Our REACH teams serve alongside them in Eagle Creek Park.
Update from the Alaska Team
“During our visit to Alaska, the area was being ravaged by more than 70 wildfires. The landscape was obscured by haze and, at times, we could even smell the smoke. Although wildfires can be devastating to life and property, they are a part of nature, which serves a vital role in the ecosystem. Fires return nutrients to the ground, allowing certain seeds to germinate, and provide habitat conditions that are beneficial to wildlife. Over and over it has been demonstrated that fires will rage, despite intense human efforts, but one move of the Creator in the form of a sudden rainfall or wind shift can contain and even extinguish a wildfire. On a smaller scale, our team encountered a few “wildfires” of our own throughout our week of ministry. Still, it was amazing to see God work to extinguish them, one by one. Early in the week, we encountered record high temperatures, but still the kids came to the park and we were able to share the Gospel and the love of Jesus with at least 20 different children. At the end of the week, God moved in a major way during the Park Party in the Fairview community. During the presentation of the Gospel, there were multiple distractions, including bush planes flying overhead, wind blowing Bible pages around and children noisily coming and going. From a human perspective, the presentation did not go well. But it was during that time that the Holy Spirit spoke to a 5-year-old girl, and she gave her life to Jesus! It was a beautiful reminder that, “In their hearts human beings plan their lives. But the Lord decides where their steps will take them.” Proverbs 16:9.
September 8-15, 2019
is the Season of Prayer for State Missions and the Janie Chapman State Missions Offering. In South Carolina missions, there are ministries which pave the way for people to hear the gospel. There are people who serve faithfully, paving the way for gospel opportunities. The Holy Spirit paves the way to prepare people to respond to the message of salvation. And you pave the way as you pray for state missions and as you give to the Janie Chapman Offering.
Thank you for supporting this mission, financially and through prayers. God is at work in Alaska, and it is a privilege to be a part of it!” – Alaska Mission Team

NAMI Basics Tuesdays, September 17 - October 22 | 6:30 - 9:00 pm | B132-133 Taylors FBC is pleased to offer support and hope to families with a loved one struggling with mental health symptoms. This fall we will host the NAMI Basics course which is a free, 6-session education program for parents, guardians and other family who provide care for youth (age 22 or younger) who are experiencing mental health symptoms. NAMI Basics is offered in a group setting so you can connect with other people. You'll learn the facts about mental health conditions and how best to support your child at home, at school and when they are getting medical care. Last year, 99% of participants told us they would recommend the program to other parents. The course is taught by a trained team with lived experience—they know what you're going through because they've been there. The 6-session program provides strategies for taking care of your child and learning the ropes of recovery. Facilitated by: Jim and Glenda Hayes To learn more, visit www.nami.org/find-support/nami-programs/nami-basics. To register, contact 864-331-3300 or info@namigreenvillesc.org.

Praying Circles Around Your Marriage
by Joel & Nina Schmidgall with Mark Batterson Dream big, pray hard, and think long – together. Marriage is your most sacred relationship on earth, and prayer is the single most powerful way to transform it. Honi the Circle Maker was a man bold enough to draw a circle in the sand and not leave it until God answered his impossible prayer. In this book, you’ll discover seven key prayer circles for your marriage. Honi's prayer saved a generation, and your prayers can transform your relationship.
Outbreak by Davis Bunn
Something sinister is happening in the waters off the coast of West Africa, trailing death in its wake. Theo and Avery saw the devastation with their own eyes, and they know the danger hasn’t passed – it has just changed locations. They must stay out of the crosshairs long enough to convince the powers that be of the toxic destruction about to be unleashed on American soil. Will their efforts prove too late?

Real Women. Real Joy Tuesday, September 10 6:30 pm | $15
Join us for dinner and a night of fun and laughter with Sylvia Harney!
A Biblically based parenting program designed around the Titus 2:4 concept of older women teaching and encouraging younger women in their relationships with their husbands and children. This series encourages mothers in their everyday mom jobs and provides perspective on some more specific parenting situations, such as raising strong-willed children, dealing with infertility, and addressing learning challenges. We recognize that being a mom can be exhausting and sometimes frustrating. During these sessions, we talk about being a mom in the real world!
Sylvia is a Christian speaker, entertainer, author, and comedienne and has shared the stage with Minnie Pearl, Roy Acuff, Barbara Mandrell, and others. Her story will make us laugh, make us cry, and inspire us to find joy in every circumstance as we walk in the freedom of Christ. You do not want to miss this special evening – bring a friend!

Discover how He lived a life full of interruptions, yet always welcomed people and invited them to follow Him. Learn to replace cultural expectations with biblical hospitality to create a legacy of invitation and reflect Jesus through simple acts of service.

The prayer you keep repeating? Jesus not only cares about this deep, spiritual wrestling, but He also wants to step in and see you through it. Join Lysa TerKeurst on the streets of Israel to explore the seven I AM statements of Jesus found in the Gospel of John. Through this interactive, in-depth study, we will be trading feelings of emptiness and depletion for the fullness of knowing who Jesus is like never before. *Childcare provided .
