INTRODUCING DAWN CORFIELD
W
e spoke to Dawn Corfield who is Swinton Square’s Customer Services Relations Manager to find out more about her role and what goes on behind the scenes…. Tell us about your role I have been working at Swinton Square since February 2016 and am the first point of contact for tenants, retailers and the general public. I ensure that any queries or concerns are responded to and resolved quickly, keeping everyone informed of any events or works that may impact daily operations. I also ensure that everything runs smoothly in the management office, so that customers get the best experience possible in The Square. What do you like to do in your spare time? When I’m not working, I enjoy spending time with my family, friends and my young daughter. What are you looking forward to this Christmas? I’m looking forward to spending some time with my daughter who is still at the age where Christmas is a truly magical time of year – though I don’t think that magic truly ever wears off! I’m also looking forward to the events planned in The Square, particularly the Snowflake Sisters show and visit from Santa which I know my daughter will love.

CHRISTMAS CARDS If you give out Christmas cards, make sure you visit Quality Save & Heather’s Cards for every card ranging from funny to traditional. Our tip is to always have a few blank cards ready, just in case you receive a card from someone unexpected and need to write one in return quickly!
FEELING FESTIVE As the shops will be closed on Christmas day, make sure you stock up on Calpol at Boots just in case the kids start to feel poorly. Make sure you check the pharmacy and doctor opening hours over the festive period too, just in case you need them. Use your time on the Square to make yourself look and feel great ready for Christmas day. Boots stock some fabulous makeup in store and you can also order in the big brands such as Clinique, Clarins and Benefit for collection right here at our Swinton Boots! A visit to the Brow Bar will also get your brows tidied up, shaped and looking fantastic in no time. If you’re a fan of getting your nails done, visit the Nail Studio – when else is it acceptable to get glittery and gold nails? For a new style or haircut in preparation for all of the upcoming Christmas parties, a trip to Hair Razors will sort you out in no time.
CHRISTMAS COOKING Let’s face it, the success of Christmas lies in the food and drink. Make sure you order the best turkey from Farmfoods well in advance for the big day. If turkey isn’t your favourite, why not try something new? Visit The Chop Shop and get specialist advice on meat cuts and how to cook them to perfection – perfect for the novice chef! Also check out Freeze Factory for fab desserts and sides. Plus of course there’s one thing we aren’t short of here at Swinton – fantastic bakeries! So make sure you order your mince pies, Christmas cake and any other sweet treats nice and early to ensure you don’t miss out! With everything else that needs baking, it’s easy to forget about the vegetables! For the least amount of stress, buy them ready prepared from our neighbours at Asda. It’ll save you lots of time. While you’re there, pick up some disposable foil trays. That means less washing up – hooray! If you’re not into cooking there’s always Parade Fish Bar (but it’s not open on Christmas Day! )
