Blanche 127J is the cow we use to gauge all other cows by. She not only sets the bar extremely high for depth of body but also excels in udder quality and definition of milk. Blanche is heading into her eleventh year and still walks the pastures with a sound foot and strong build. You will see the Blanche 127J broodiness displayed in these two Eli ET daughters as well as her daughters and granddaughters that are in production at WLB and other family members that are in this special event. 210W developed her extra depth very quickly. At the rate she’s developing, she could become the deepest bodied female ever bred and raised at WLB. There has never been any doubt about whether she would be brood cow material. The only question has been whether we could bring ourselves to let her go.

We will leave it up to each individual as to which of these flush sisters will make the best show heifer but we are willing to bet that both will make cows that can do our breed proud against any female of any breed! 211W is the darker red heifer of the two. She has a beautiful structure and moves with a strong sure stride. She’s a complete made heifer with a hair coat that will enable her to still be further complemented by a fitter’s hand. It will be interesting to see which one is the chosen one. Either way, you can rest assured you will be getting one of our best!

Sally 29N, the dam of this fancy Eli daughter, is a top anchor cow in the WLB program. She makes raising top indexing bull calves look like a cakewalk. She’s loaded with milk and has the soundness of udder that is very prevalent with the Nickie 17C cow family. Her latest son, WLB Shapely 50S 40U is the current Agribition Senior Champion Hereford Bull. Her two previous sons were each high indexing calves and our high selling bulls for each of those years. We feel 40W not only portrays an image of productivity but also has the look of a show ring contender. We can hardly wait to see her heavy in calf and increasing her look of broodiness. If you are looking for a top show heifer with a likeable set of numbers or that ET candidate for your breeding program, be sure to click in on this attractive broody Eli daughter come sale time. We would like to retain the right to a future flush or partner with her new owner in a future flush, at the new owner’s convenience.

Check her genetics! This ET heifer is a full sister to the current Agribition Grand Champion Polled Hereford Bull, WLB Eli 10H 83T. We think she will be a very positive addition to any progressive North American purebred program. Not only does she come with a great set of numbers but she’s also a product of a cow family where natural thickness is an inherent characteristic passed on by its maternal members. Yes you can show her but we think her production is where she will really shine. A favorite to all visitors who have stopped in this summer. Her dark, short marked colour and goggle eyes complement the extra depth of body and middle that she displays. She is the type of heifer that will demand a second look, no matter if it’s in the show ring or in the pasture. Her ANL dam is an impressive brood cow that is easy keeping and always brings her calves in looking the part. She brought her Global heifer in, posting a 110 index.

Her Formula dam is a never miss cow that has been a positive in our ET program. Her daughter is a good example of why we are so pleased with the influence Mutumbo has left here at WLB, consistently producing deep, thick, round ribbed, short marked progeny. The commercial guys eat up his sons. This easy doing, moderate framed heifer will most definitely show but please note we put emphasis on easy doing. This WLB Square 85R daughter is one we have watched all summer and imagined what she would look like with a show halter on, so we had to enter her in the Agribition National Hereford Show. When you get behind her, you will see plenty of hip and natural thickness. When she comes at you, her tidiness up front completes her total package very nicely. We think she will stand some pretty tough competition. From a cow man’s perspective, she can’t miss as her sire is out of Eli’s grand dam and her Star America mother has proven beyond any doubt that she has what it takes to put a very nice shine on her calf.

Very fancy best describes this wine red, Traveler heifer. Her type and colour reminds me of a WLB heifer that went on to be division champion at a past JNHE show. We had planned to keep 78W back as a replacement but, as she is our best Heat daughter and because of the great addition she can make, she had to be a part of this special event. Her Mutumbo mother has loads of eye appeal that is complemented by her “always full of milk” udder that is validated by 78W’s 109 weaning index. When thinking of the good mother cow behind Heat and the work ethics of Sara 49R, there could be some pleasing production ahead for the new owner of 78W.

Her MC Ranger dam is an attractive moderate framed two-year-old that has really stepped up to the task posting a 117 weaning index on her first calf. If you check the bottom side of her pedigree, you will find her maternal grand dam 50R is a full sister to WLB Global 50S, a leading semen sire for Semex and the sire of three heifers in this sale. Go a little further and you will see her pedigree traces back to the Jan 17F, one of our most influential cow families. Her Mutumbo dam is very easy on the eyes and one of our favorites. In her short show career, 197P was a Canadian National Show class winner as a two year old. The bull calf at her side at that show topped the 2006 National Hereford Sale going to St. Arnaud Farms. Her first heifer calf was a Sale of Distinction sale topper, going to the Millers in Illinois. Attention Parents: If you have a young boy or girl and would like to get them more excited about being involved in the junior association and the cattle business but are worried about finding a heifer they can handle, we urge you to take a look at this Eli daughter. She’s got a super attitude and has exhibited it from day one. We jokingly say she wants to be a friend to everyone. While 11W won’t be the tallest one in the show ring, she’ll stand with the thick ones and today that can sometimes make you the winner. After the show is over, win or lose, we think your child will not only be very pleased with 11W but their parents for the enjoyable experience. Genetically this heifer traces back to the Blanche 127J cow family same as 210W, 211W and 112W heifers.

Because Eli daughters make up almost half of this group of heifers you will get a good idea of the stamp he leaves in his daughters. Big or small they are very similar in their type. 82W is one of the smaller Eli daughters but her physical makeup and over all presentation is very likeable. 82W is a maternal sister to our show cow for 2009 who will show with our lead off bull calf, WLB Samsonite 84W, at her side. This deep-bodied, big-barreled female is one of two Quaker daughters born at WLB this spring. She should make a very productive cow for her new owner. Here is another heifer that will trace back to our Blanche 127J cow. Her sire, Formula, a top breeding son of Boulder 57G, is the sire that we credit for laying the foundation that supports the WLB program today. 23W is very typical of Formula daughters, displaying extension through the front, while showing a good hip that complements her presentation. This heifer has the distinction of being out of one of the very few polled 5131E daughters in North America. We started this catalogue with heifers that were a direct product of our Blanche 127J cow. We are closing it with a Blanche 127J granddaughter. The productivity passed down in this cow family is shown in this Global heifer calf by her 126-weaning index and a 747 adj 205 wt. Not bad for a two year old. This Global daughter is loaded with depth and volume, which hangs on a more refined bone. We don’t see any backslapping or show ring fame in the future for this heifer but we wouldn’t be at all surprised to hear of some fireworks being set off by her future production.
