DANIEL P. GEHMAN, AIA, NCARB, LEED AP PRINCIPAL It’s one thing to design a structure that will give shape to an urban setting for seventy-five years or more, and quite another to consider the most intimate details of a person’s daily routine. Sure, this edifice will define a civic space, but what’s it like to try to apply makeup in the bathroom? Straddling the gaps between the macro and the micro is one of the challenges that make our work so exhilarating. On the best days, it truly is the relentless pursuit of the better mousetrap, seasoned with countless small “Aha!” moments as new and exciting solutions are revealed.

ERIC OLSEN, AIA, LEED AP PRINCIPAL I gain tremendous satisfaction from working with our teams to uncover the right combination of project components: client needs and program; inspiring forms and spaces; sustainable performance and materials; and urban sensitivity and contextualism. The best architecture today harmoniously blends these components. It is not enough to deliver the program in a beautiful building, we must help heal the natural and built environment, and stay within the client’s budget. It is very exciting.
