Dr. Nancy B. Moody is the 27th and first female President of Tusculum College, Tennessee’s oldest College. She officially assumed the role on April 27, 2009. Dr. Moody heralds from Middlesboro, Ky. Following gradua�on from Middlesboro High School, she received associate and baccalaureate degrees in nursing from Eastern Kentucky University, a Master of Science in nursing from Texas Woman’s University and a Doctor of Science in nursing from the University of Alabama School of Nursing at Birmingham. Her professional career in higher educa�on began at Lincoln Memorial University (LMU) as an instructor of nursing. She subsequently served in several roles at LMU, culmina�ng in her appointment as the dean of the School of Professional Studies before joining the faculty at East Tennessee State University where she was tenured and served as department chair. In terms of leadership, Dr. Moody served as the inaugural Execu�ve Director of the Tennessee Center of Nursing, which was funded ini�ally through a grant from The Robert Woods Johnson Founda�on, which she coauthored. Under her leadership, the Center was incorporated, con�nuously funded by external resources from 1996-2001 and funded through licensure fees of the Tennessee Board of Nursing beginning in 2002. She was an associate professor at the University of Tennessee at Knoxville prior to returning to LMU where she served as president for eight years. Dr. Moody has taught nursing in associate, baccalaureate, masters and doctoral degree programs. She has taught in private higher educa�on, in both statewide systems of higher educa�on in Tennessee, the Tennessee Board of Regents and the University of Tennessee. Dr. Moody has published and presented widely on topics including nursing faculty job sa�sfac�on, advanced nursing prac�ce and nursing workforce development. In addi�on, she has garnered more than two million dollars in grants for program support. She has par�cipated in accredita�on ac�vi�es with the American Veterinary Medical Associa�on, the Commission on Accredita�on of Nurse Anesthesia Programs, the Commission on Athle�c Training Educa�on, the Commission on Osteopathic College Accredita�on, the Council on Social Work Educa�on, the Na�onal Accredi�ng Agency for Clinical Laboratory Sciences Commission on Allied Health Educa�on Accredita�on, the Na�onal League for Nursing Accredi�ng Commission, the Southern Associa�on of Colleges and Schools - Commission Colleges and the Council on Accredita�on and School Improvement. Dr. Moody is the past chair of the execu�ve commi�ee for the Tennessee Independent Colleges and Universi�es Associa�on and served on the Tennessee Student Assistance Corpora�on Board of Directors. She is a member of the NCAA Division II Presidents Council and an ac�ve par�cipant on the boards of the Appalachian College Associa�on and the Tennessee Center for Nursing, Inc. She is married to Tom Moody, a self-employed public accountant. She and Tom are proud parents of two adult children, daughter, Mykel, and son, Adam.

Frankie DeBusk is entering his fi�h year as athle�c director at Tusculum College. He was named interim director of athle�cs in August, 2007 and was promoted to the full-�me post later that year. DeBusk is also beginning his 14th season at the helm of the Pioneer football program. DeBusk oversees the day-to-day opera�ons of the Tusculum athle�c department and the 14 sports that the College sponsors. In his first four years at the helm of the Pioneer Athle�c Department, DeBusk has guided Tusculum to outstanding seasons. In the last four years, TC has captured 10 South Atlan�c Conference championships, six SAC Tournament �tles and 16 NCAA Division II postseason appearances. Tusculum has finished fourth or be�er for the Doug Echols SAC Athle�c Excellence Award three �mes, including second in his first two years as athle�c director. With its outstanding na�onal postseason success during the 2008-09 campaign, Tusculum was the top league school in the NACDA Director’s Cup, finishing 58th of 272 Division II programs in the country. Tusculum student-athletes and coaches have garnered numerous individual accomplishments during DeBusk’s watch. In the last four years, 147 student-athletes have earned All-South Atlan�c Conference honors, including 69 All-Region picks and 31 All-Americans. Twelve (14) have been selected as SAC Players of the Year, including five as Region Players of the Year. Four student-athletes have also garnered Conference Freshman of the Year accolades. DeBusk has also stressed academic excellence in the department, resul�ng in 353 SAC Commissioner Honor Roll recipients over the last four years, including and a school record 29 named to the Cap�al One Academic All-District Team. Fifteen (15) Pioneers have earned the pres�gious South Atlan�c Conference Scholar Athlete Award for their respec�ve sports, including eight Capital One Academic All-Americans®, including Dus�n Morrow (baseball - 2008), Nicole Ferris (women’s soccer - 2008), Jarrell NeSmith (football - 2008, 2009), Simon Holzapfel (men’s cross country - 2009, 2010, 2011) and Chase Carroll (men’s golf - 2009). Three TC head coaches were either named Conference or Region Coach of the Year during the 2007-08 season. Tommy Arne� (men’s tennis) and Bre� Teach (men’s soccer) were named SAC Coaches of the Year, while Missy Tiber was selected as the Region Coach of the Year by the Women’s Basketball Coaches Associa�on (WBCA). In 2010-11, Michael Robinson was named the SAC Volleyball Coach of the Year. DeBusk has overseen numerous athle�c facility enhancements during his tenure as both football coach and athle�c director at Tusculum. In 2007-08, championship banners were installed in Pioneer Arena, honoring the success of Tusculum athle�cs, both past and present. The Pioneer Arena playing surface was redesigned and refinished during the summer of 2008, while historic Rankin Hall, which houses the TC athle�c department, experienced renova�ons to its main lobby area. The Pioneer football locker room also experienced a major renova�on with the installa�on of new lockers and flooring. DeBusk, the winningest football coach in Tusculum history, has built the Pioneers into year in and year out contenders in NCAA II, resul�ng in seven winning seasons in the last nine years. Over the past 11 seasons, TC has posted a 71-49 mark including a 9-4 tally sheet in 2008, while claiming the program’s second South Atlan�c Conference Championship and earning the school’s first berth to the NCAA II Football Playoffs. For his efforts, he was named Conference and AFCA Region Coach of the Year. His 77 victories on the Pioneer sidelines makes DeBusk the winningest gridrion coach in Tusculum history. His victory tally is the third most in SAC history, while his 39 league wins are the sixth most in the conference record book. In 2008, DeBusk’s team achieved success both on and off the field. The nine wins �ed a school single-season record, including victories in four of its last five games. DeBusk, a 1991 Furman University graduate, established 11 school records at quarterback for the Paladins, while compiling an impressive 31-6 record. In 1988, DeBusk led Furman to a 13-2 mark while capturing the NCAA Division I-AA Na�onal Championship. His collegiate career also included three Southern Conference �tles and three trips to the NCAA I-AA playoffs. He is not the first member of the DeBusk family to garner the TC black and orange. His brother, Doug, was a Tusculum Hall of Fame point guard for the Pioneer basketball team from 1991-95. In 2003, DeBusk was the recipient of the pres�gious Art Argauer Award, which is presented to the Tusculum coach of the year as selected by his peers. He was the co-recipient of the Argauer Award again in the 2008-09 year. Frankie DeBusk is married to the former Jennifer Coffey of Bristol, Tenn. and they have one son, Ty.


HEAD COACH MICHAEL ROBINSON Michael Robinson is entering his fourth season at the helm of the Tusculum College volleyball program. Robinson took over the program in spring of 2008, becoming the seventh head coach in the history of volleyball at Tennessee’s oldest college. It has been a magical run for Robinson in his first three years on the Tusculum sidelines. He has amassed a solid 65-33 in his TC career, giving him the third-highest victory tally tally in school history, while his .663 won-loss percentage is fourth in the Tusculum record book. In just three years, he has mentored six All-South Atlan�c Conference honorees, three All-Region selec�ons, six SAC All-Freshman picks and the program’s first Daktronics First Team All-American in Caitlyn Dean in 2010. His 2010 squad accounted for the best season since the Pioneers made the transi�on to the NCAA Division II level in 1998. Tusculum posted an impressive 25-7 worksheet, including a school record 16-2 mark in SAC play. TC tallied a 10-game winning streak and a stellar 10-1 record at home, including an eight-game winning trend at Pioneer Arena to end the season. Four Tusculum players garnered All-SAC recogni�on, including rookie se�er Ashley Sarmiento, who was named Conference Freshman of the Year. The Pioneers made a strong late-season run, winning their last five regular-season ou�ngs and won two more in the Food Lion SAC Tournament to punch its �cket for the championship match for the first-�me ever. TC’s win in the SAC Tournament semifinal was monumental as the Pioneers rallied from two-set deficit to claim a 3-2 marathon win over Lincoln Memorial University. The strong showing on the year led the Pioneers to a NCAA Tournament bid and their second straight trip to the na�onal postseason. Sarmiento was also named the Southeast Region Freshman of the Year, while Dean and middle-hi�er Alyssa Raterman garnered All-Region accolades as well. Dean’s season was monumental as she established na�onal records in defense, as she led the country with a NCAA II-best 7.1 digs per set. For his efforts, Robinson was selected as co-South Atlan�c Conference Coach of the Year, becoming the first Tusculum skipper to earn the honor. Robinson’s first year at Tusculum was a successful one as the Pioneers posted a 22-11 record, while earning the program its first NCAA Division II regional ranking. He mentored one All-South Atlan�c Conference performer (Ka�e Luebke), while two of his rookies were selected to the SAC All-Freshman Team (Carly Swisher, Peyton Colclough). In his inaugural season as head coach, the Pioneers opened winning six of their first eight matches, including Robinson’s first-ever collegiate victory against Belmont Abbey College on Aug. 30, 2008. He led TC to a seven-match winning streak as the squad finished fourth in the conference. He posted his second straight winning season for the Pioneers in 2009 as his squad went 18-15 as he guided Tusculum to the program’s first-ever NCAA II Tournament appearance. He mentored All-SAC honoree Gina Coffaro and SAC All-Freshman standouts, Sam Underwood and Bailee Price. Prior to assuming the head coaching du�es, Robinson served the previous three years as an assistant at Tusculum. From 2006-07, Robinson helped the program to a 48-20 record, including a 20-8 mark in the South Atlan�c Conference. In 2006, TC posted a 23-10 showing, a 14-win improvement from the previous season. TC also posted a 9-5 SAC record to finish fourth in the league. But it was in 2007 that the Pioneers showed the most improvement going 25-10, while estabOACH OF THE EAR lishing a new school record for SAC wins in a season (11). Tusculum went 11-3 in league play, while finishing second in the conference, its best ever finish since joining the SAC in 1998. TC ranked second in the na�on in blocks per game and ninth in team hi�ng percentage. That squad boasted the 2007 SAC Player of the Year in Vivian Lacy, who became the first Tusculum volleyball player to garner NCAA Division II All-America dis�nc�on. Lacy was named the SAC USCULUM S INNINGEST OACHES Player of the Year, while Alexis Rowles was tabbed the SAC Scholar Athlete for volleyball. Audrey Campbell is beginning her first season as assistant volleyball coach at Tusculum College. Campbell comes to the Greeneville, Tenn. campus from NCAA Division I Florida Gulf Coast University in Fort Myers, Fla. Campbell, a na�ve of Tampa, Fla., will assist in all aspects of the Tusculum volleyball program, including: recrui�ng coordina�on, prac�ce planning and implementa�on, strength & condi�oning, fundraising and the team’s community engagement efforts. Campbell has recorded four years of collegiate volleyball playing experience, including Hillsborough Community College in Tampa for two seasons (2005-2007), before transferring to Florida Gulf Coast for her final two years (2007-2009). While at Florida Gulf Coast, she led the Eagles to back-to-back Atlan�c-Sun Conference Championships in 2007 and 2008. Campbell finished second in the league in hi�ng percentage (.407) as a junior and earned A-Sun All-Academic Honors during her senior campaign. During her two seasons at the Fort Myers school, her teams posted an impressive 43-11 overall record, including a 283 conference worksheet. Her teams also posted a remarkable 19-1 record at home. In 2007, she played in 19 matches where she tallied 98 kills and 41 blocks. In A-Sun play, she posted a league-leading .417 hi�ng percentage, racking up 49 kills with only six errors in 103 a�empts. She recorded a career-high 11 kills while hi�ng .500 and adding five blocks against East Tennessee State University. During her senior season at FGCU, she finished with a .289 hi�ng percentage, which was ninth in the conference. She was one of five Eagles to play in every set, accoun�ng for 72 blocks, which were third-best on the team. At Hillsborough Community College, she led the Hawks to a FCCAA State Championship, Gulf District Championship and a berth to the NJCAA Tournament, where her team finished 11th in the na�on. It was Hillsborough’s first FCCAA State �tle, as the Hawks knocked off perennial state power Miami-Dade Community College. In 2006, she posted a .391 hi�ng percentage and averaged 2.2 kills per set. Campbell also led the team in blocking with 88 rejec�ons (0.68 bps). She also served as assistant coach for the USA South Volleyball Club program where she specialized with middle posi�on training. She has worked with numerous volleyball camps and clinics with FGCU, USA South Volleyball Club, Hillsborough Community College and the Tampa United Volleyball Club (20062010). Prior to her arrival in Greeneville, she served two years as the Development Assistant for Athle�c Advancement at FGCU (2009-2011). Her du�es in this posi�on included: Eagles Club Liaison, Special Event Coordinator, fundraising, major gi�s as served as the Assistant for the Senior Associate Director for External Affairs. Campbell earned her Bachelor of Arts in Communica�on from Florida Gulf Coast in 2009 and followed that with her Masters in Public Administra�on this past May. She also earned an Associate Arts degree from Hillsborough Community College in 2007.

Kendall Grow is in her first year as assistant athle�c trainer at Tusculum College in 2010-11. Grow, a na�ve of Lancaster, Pa., came to Tusculum in October, 2010 a�er earning a master of arts degree in kinesiology with a concentra�on in athle�c training from San Jose State University. Her thesis was a study of the effects on range of mo�on and injury in baseball players. At San Jose State, Grow provided athle�c training services for the baseball, so�ball, tennis, women’s volleyball and women’s gymnas�cs teams. She also provided medical care to a�endees for a variety of summer camps hosted by the university. She also taught undergraduate athle�c training classes through the university’s teaching assistantship program. A 2008 cum laude graduate of West Chester University with a bachelor of science degree in athle�c training, Grow provided athle�c training services for the school’s athle�c teams as well as Bayard Rus�n High School and Swarthmore College. She was a member of the university’s Athle�c Training Club and worked a variety of summer camps. Grow received ATC cer�fica�on from the Na�onal Athle�c Trainers Associa�on in April, 2008 and has been a member of NATA since 2007. She is American Heart Associa�on Cer�fied in CPR/AED and First Aid.

PIONEER ARENA On January 16, 1998, Pioneer Arena at the Niswonger Student Commons opened its doors and has served as the home of Tusculum College volleyball and basketball for the past 13 years. The $10 million, 2,000-seat Pioneer Arena is part of the Sco� M. Niswonger Student Commons, which also houses the Alumni Weight Room. The facility encompasses an athle�c training and treatment center, swimming pool, team locker rooms, as well as a complete renova�on of Pioneer Gymnasium, which served as the home of Tusculum volleyball from 1982-97. Pioneer Arena’s playing surface experienced a makeover in 2007 and is spacious enough for two volleyball and basketball courts. Pioneer Arena has hosted several events, including the Food Lion South Atlan�c Conference Volleyball Tournament four �mes (2000, 2001, 2002, 2009). The facility has hosted numerous quarterfinal round games of the South Atlan�c Conference Basketball Tournament as well as the Tennessee High School basketball postseason tournaments, concerts and other community func�ons. The College’s commencement ceremonies are also held in Pioneer Arena each December and May. The 1,000-square foot Alumni Weight Room features free weights and nau�lus equipment, as well as treadmills, exercise bikes and condi�oning equipment. The installa�on of flat-screen, HD televisions were installed in 2008.
