Mammoth Undertaking
Permanent Secretary of Finance, Athenee Harvey-Basden who also delivered remarks at the launch of the Census, emphasised that the mammoth undertaking was scheduled to commence in 2022, but was delayed due to a number of challenges.
She said: “However, the time the CPU has to align all the postal services in the Caribbean so that all are afforded the same opportunities to strengthen the postal services and build a stronger network for opportunities worldwide.”

“This will be the first national census in the history of the Turks and Caicos that goes green or almost entirely paperless, and place of paper, more than 100, enumerators will take tablets to perform the 2023 national census.”
She further explained that this will make the process even more effective as the information collected will be immediately uploaded to cloud storage.
She added that: “The 2023 census will therefore make a positive impact on the environment in every way.
“The Department of Statistics will conduct the 2023 services, which will consist of the government of the Turks and Caicos will assist in the government of the Turks and Caicos developing and enhancing social and economic policy that will address among other things, concerns, health care, education, unemployment, and sustainable development.”
