Should you feel guilty?

Some things you do, you feel guilty about it, right away. Other things, however, you go on with your life like nothing has ever happened.

Last week, I woke up to urine but was greeted by some foreign creature in the bathroom. Half asleep and without thinking for a split second, I rushed back to the room, grabbed my flip-flop and smashed the sucker with a vengeance. The unlucky bastard was at the wrong place at the wrong moment, I spared no time and no chance of survival. I ensured it was dead_ properly dead.

I never liked insects and entomology never crossed my mind, so killing insects is not an unexplored hobby. If I find an insect in my path_ it will be killed and even innocent ants get a taste of the wrath.

Seeing an ant moping around, after surviving three death sentences, sometimes makes me question my actions and my conscience. I’ll hesitate. Maybe getting squished between my thumbs is the last thing it needs. But I kill anyway.

Some people would never kill an insect. They would feel too guilty to hurt a living thing.

So I want to bring your attention to a few other things that raise an eyebrow. Why? Maybe there is a small degree of wrongdoing, immorality and wickedness involved that we are comfortable in ignoring. We've all been there

WHITE LIES

Is a white lie acceptable? Should you feel guilty about telling a white lie?

No racism intended_ white lies are no different to any other lie. A lie is a lie.

Putting Yourself Before Others

A small dose of selfishness is accepted. Do not feel guilty about that. If you take more than you should… you shouldn't feel guilty. You need to start putting yourself first.

Not Saying Sorry

Do not feel guilty for not saying sorry, if you do not believe it. What is the point in saying sorry if you do not mean it?

Not Finishing A Book

Do not feel guilty about it. I think if you didn’t finish it because it wasn’t interesting enough. As far as I am concerned, it isn’t your fault but the authors.

RE-GIFTING GIFTS

Don’t like it. Give it away. No guilt necessary.

No Call Back

You shouldn’t feel guilty about not returning a missed call. Sorry, the call actually went missing.

Having A Favourite Friend

Should you feel guilty for having a favourite friend? Yes, maybe, but who am I to really judge?
