Focus on the things and people that matter most Do not waste your time on unnecessary things

The things and people that matter most to you may not be the things and people that matter most to others. However, you should determine personally what matters most to you and then focus on them. Too many times, we are spending time focusing on things and people that do not matter and as a result you forfeit your time on the things and people that really matter.

I encourage you today to find some time alone and consider what really matters the most to you. For some of you, it is your family, your health, your relationship with God, your career, your business, yourself, and your long-term goals.

Many of us are Christians and if you are Christian, then God must matter a lot to you. If God matters a lot to you, then you should spend time with God and in his word.

However, sometimes we can get so caught up in other things that we put our relationship with God on the backburner. To avoid wasting time on the things of the world, set your schedule. The first thing you should aim to do when you get up is to spend time in the word of God and pray. Start the day off with that routine and end the day with that routine. We spend so much time on facebook, talking on the phone and at work when we can spend that important time with God. I am guilty of this, and this was a wakeup call for me recently. The word of God says seek ye first the kingdom of God, but we are seeking first other things. It further stated, “and all these things shall be added to you.”

Another important thing that people need to focus on is their health. Good health is very critical to your survival, and you need to be conscious of your diet. Get frequent checks up and follow the doctors’ instructions. Think about your friends and family. If you are unhealthy, it can lead to death and create a lot of stress and grief for loved ones. However, if you stay focused, eat the right things and exercise, you can extend your life with your loved ones. Remember your family will always be your family. You may have your ups and downs but more than likely they will be right there for you if something happens to you. Do not turn your back on your family and don’t put others before them, especially if they are always there when you need them. Family is an institution that was created by God and don’t the let anyone or anything destroy your family. Spend quality time with your family. Some of you spend more time on the phone with your friends than family and then you wonder why you don’t have any relationship with your family. We waste so much time on unnecessary things and people. For instance, we spend a lot of time scrolling on social media outlets and getting involved in the affairs of others. There is only so much time in a day. You are not getting any value by getting into other people’s business, especially people you do not personally know. Use your time wisely and focus on yourself and your long-term goals Some of the best ways to focus on the things and people that matter most are to establish goals, stick to your schedule and remind yourself each day what really matters most to you.
