Why is homosexuality a sin, if being gay is just who they are?

Worldwide, pride parades, picnics, parties, symposia and concerts will dominate the month of June, and lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) communities will swamp the streets to commemorate the 1969 Stonewall riots and their rights to equal justice and opportunity.

‘Pride month,’ as they termed it, has become a popular celebration of perversion in the US. Since its inception, the movement has infected the entire globe – gaining steam in the right to same-sex marriages, greater acceptance of LGBT individuals and decertification, and now, they’re indoctrinating innocent children.

While homosexuality can be analyzed from physiological and psycho-social viewpoints, I find it more appropriate to approach the matter from the spiritual realm –as God’s Word is the essence of human conduct.

In Genesis 9, after God destroyed the Earth with a flood, set a rainbow in the clouds, as a covenant between Him and the Earth, not to destroy mankind again with flood water. Besides, Revelation 4:3 pictured a majestic rainbow around the throne of God, communicating His glory.

Today, various rainbow coalition have decorated their flag with God’s covenant rainbow colours, as a metaphor, bringing together LGBT people from a broad spectrum of races and creed, representing their worldly, demonic agenda.

But one day, the rainbow will no longer be misused to boast sin; it will be reserved for God’s glory alone, when Christ returns and makes all things new.

Furthermore, Genesis 19 detailed how God destroyed an entire city because of widespread homosexual practices. In fact, Leviticus 18:22 warned, “Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it is abomination.”

On the contrary, psychologists claim, homosexuality is not a choice; rather, it’s caused by ‘gay genetics,’ which they have yet to identify. However, it is the physiologists who assert that the determinants of homosexuality range from female-dominated upbringing, deviance from conformity, to gender roles to family environment.

So this begs the question, did God create homosexuals and then punish them for their actions? If this is true, then is it safe to say a person who steals and go to prison continuously was born a thief? What about the woman who trades sex for money? Was she born a whore?

No! If God created us in His image then homosexuality can’t be God’s image! Moreover, everyone has a conscience to know right from wrong and in James1:15, while we fantasize our own worldly desires – it is acting on them that give birth to sin.

The onus is on us to go God’s way and become anew. But if we changed God’s truth into a lie, Romans 1:25—26 assured us that God will give us over to impurity, to the dishonoring of our bodies.

In Mark 10:6—9, God design for marriage is between a man and a woman. However, homosexuals can be forgiven, but if they’re persistent in their actions, they cannot enter God’s kingdom, as the apostle Paul outlines in 1 Corinthians 6:9—11.

This is not homophobia, condemnation of LGBT people or an attempt to isolate them from society – as I am aware, “all have sinned” – rather, I am imploring them to seek God and be delivered them from this egregious lifestyle.

‘Born gay,’ is misrepresenting Christ’s teaching, while creating one’s own reality. Know this, “human sexuality is a gift not to be squandered” and if the church affirms same-sex relationships they’ve abandoned the gospel!
