Harvest delivers in ‘Love North and Middle Caicos’ outreach

The Harvest Bible Chapel heeded the words penned by the apostle Paul, let all be done for the glory of God” (1 Corinthians 10:31), when its members took their services to North and Middle Caicos on Friday, June 16 and Saturday, June 17.

Throughout the years, Harvest has been instrumental in providing care and well-being packages for the people of the Turks and Caicos Islands (TCI), albeit primarily on the island of Providenciales.

However, it was laid on the heart of the leadership of the church to expand this initiative to other islands in the TCI. After much prayer and consultation the idea of "Love North and Middle Caicos" was formed and an excellent project team made up of people with deep roots and connections to the islands was put together.

The gist of the idea was to meet the physical and spiritual needs of the people of North and Middle. This entailed packing and providing food packages for those in need, performing basic home repairs, medical and dental check-ups, and sharing the good news of Jesus’s life with all. All of this was done in partnership with over 150 local volunteers, and 21 individuals from Summit Point Church in Peoria, Illinois, USA. Additionally, several business houses, organisations, individuals, and church leaders on the twin islands contributed to making this effort a truly life-changing one.

Special thanks to those who gave so willingly and generously.

In total, over 15,000 pounds of food - comprised of vegetables, canned food, and meat - were distributed, along with 350 knapsacks, 400 cases of water, and most of all prayers for everyone who lives on the island.

While it was the church’s hope to be a blessing to the people of North and Middle Caicos, it was the people of North and Middle Caicos who blessed those who came to the islands to serve. The hospitality, generosity, prayers, and support expressed by several members of the various communities on the islands would live on in the memory for a very long time.

It is hoped that similar efforts to bless the people of the TCI would be undertaken by others even as the church discerns what is next. However, it is the hope and prayer of the leadership of the church that the blessings of God would pour out on these islands.
