Room Division Supervisor

AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY:

• Orient employees to the department and resort and provides on-the-job training on job responsibilities.

• Prioritize and assigns work.

• Provide feedback to the employee and department manager on the employee’s performance of job responsibilities.

• Greet guest and process resort registration.

• Keep current on and promotes resort accommodations, services and area attractions.

• Respond to guest inquiries for information.

• Arrange for services requested by the guest by working with other departments as appropriate.

• Stay current with developments in the resort by reviewing and updating the communication log.

• Offer guest updated rooms and promotes resort amenities, food and beverage outlets and services.

• Make reservations in accordance with resort’s yield management practices.

• Process customer credit at check-in in accordance with resort policy.

• Identify and record special billing instructions and notify Accounting.

• Obtain appropriate approvals and signatures.

• Follow resort policy on cash banks.

• Monitor lobby traffic and adjust accordingly.

• Any other ad hoc duties or tasks as assigned or directed by management.

KEY SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS:

• Skilled in the use of techniques and strategies required to deliver training material in group and one-on-one settings.

• Understand the reservations process including the role of the WRS, distribution channels and reservations flow.

• Demonstrate ability to proactively prioritize needs, put first things first, and effectively manage resources and time.

• Demonstrate ability to relate to, communicate with, and motivate employees to sustain high performance and quality levels.

• Position requires walking and giving direction most of the working day. Must be able to stand and exert well-paced mobility for up to 5 hours in length. Length of time of these tasks may vary from day to day and task to task.

• Must be able to exert well-paced ability to reach other departments of the hotel on a timely basis.

• Must be able to lift up to 20 lbs. occasionally.

• Requires grasping, writing, standing, sitting, walking, repetitive motions, bending, climbing, listening and hearing ability and visual acuity.

• Talking and hearing occur continuously in the process of communicating with guests, supervisors and subordinates.

• Vision occurs continuously with the most common visual functions being those of near vision and depth perception.

• Requires manual dexterity to use and operate all necessary equipment.

• Must have finger dexterity to be able to operate office equipment such as computers, printers, 10-key adding machine, multi-line touch tone phone, filing cabinets, FAX machines, photocopiers, dolly and other office equipment as needed.

Starting salary $12.0o to $14.00 per hour not including service charge.
