JOB SUMMARY
The Curriculum Development Specialist (CDS) preforms programme and curriculum analysis, instructional design and project management tasks for new and existing programmes. Thoroughly embracing TCICC’s vision, mission, and values, the CDS is essential in the curriculum design and development process that includes the development of new courses and the updating of existing courses. Under the guidance of the Dean of Academic & Student Affairs and the Dean of Technical & Vocational Education & Training, the CDS ensures that a new or revised course is designed to make the physical and virtual class most beneficial to a given programme of study
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
• Conferring with members of the Turks and Caicos Islands Higher Education Advisory Board, the Workforce Development Officer, and the Assessment & Monitoring Officer to obtain knowledge of subject areas, and to relate curriculum materials to specific subjects, individual student needs, and occupational areas.
• Preparing and providing curricular materials needed for submissions to the Government, the Board, and the National Programme Accreditation Standards.
• Maintaining the currency and accuracy of curricular materials in a repository for the campuses to use.
• Identifying, summarizing and providing information on equipment, technology, and supplies needed to support the quality delivery of the programme curricula that have been newly developed or recently updated.
• Maintaining a master textbook/e-Book list for the programme curricula under his/her involvement.
• Working with the Workforce Development Officer and subject matter experts (SMEs) to create syllabi, design documents, content outlines, lesson presentations, audio/visual scripts and other supporting documents for courses, following standard course components document and standards.
• Developing and managing project plans that ensure on-time completion of assigned courses.
• Complying with the Higher Education Advisory Board National Accreditation Standards and standards of TCICC’s accrediting bodies.
• Participating in new curriculum design from concept development through production to ensure a threading of instruction from concept introduction to concept development to mastery of concept, occurs throughout the curriculum.
• Conducting research and consulting with faculty, staff, and business representatives in the design and development of new curriculum.
• Developing residential (traditional), Blended and Online courses, using needs assessments and skill level analyses.
• Managing the process of developing syllabi and instructional materials for each curriculum assigned to him/her, including such materials as lesson plans, supporting materials like lecture presentations, lecture notes, and project handouts, and formative and summative assessment instruments like quizzes, tests, and exams.
• Applying instructional guidelines, policies, regulations, and official notices; to the preparation of curricular content for instructional materials.
• Developing tests, questionnaires, and procedures that measure the effectiveness of curricula, and use these tools to determine whether course and program objectives are being met.
• Applying effective use of technological applications and tools to enrich student learning experience in all courses.
• Leading the assessment of the revised curriculum for departments.
• Determining gaps within lesson plans and across units to strengthen existing curriculum.
• Creating and leading curriculum review committees to support revision efforts.
• Managing timeline for revisions and ensure deadlines are met.
• Providing training designed to support implementation of newly developed or revised curricula.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree Instructional Design/Education or Project Organizational Management. (Essential) Master’s degree Instructional Design/Education or Project Organizational Management. (Preferred)
EXPERIENCE
• Three or more years of experience in project management, instructional design and quality assurance, preferably in the career-focused education sector.
• Extensive experience in using the Canvas learning management systems.
• Advanced knowledge of curriculum design models and instructional methodologies.
• Ability to manage multiple programs and tasks simultaneously with a team and independently.

SALARY: USD 58,507.00 per annum
