Islands Police Force will also represent the Turks and Caicos Islands as they will form part of the military personnel for the King’s coronation ceremony.

The Coronation is centred on a solemn religious ceremony that has remained largely unchanged for over 1,000 years.

This historic ceremony will occur at Westminster Abbey, London, and will be conducted by the Archbishop of Canterbury, Justin Welby.

During the ceremony, the King will be crowned with the solid gold, 17th Century St Edward's Crown, alongside Camilla, the Queen Consort.

The Queen Consort will be crowned with Queen Mary's Crown.

At the end of the service, the new King will exchange his crown for the Imperial State Crown, or Crown of State.

This is the first coronation in 70 years following the passing of Her Late Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II in September of 2022.

A bank holiday will be observed on Monday, 8th May in celebration of His Majesty, King Charles III’s ascension to the throne.
