BOTs’ economic and social development to be discussed at annual JMC

Pertinent matters relating to TCI’s governance and the sustainable economic and social development of all British Overseas Territories (BOTs) are high on the agenda for the UK Overseas Territories Joint Ministerial Council (JMC).

To this end, the Premier of the Turks and Caicos Islands, Hon Charles Washington Misick will lead a delegation to the JMC in London from May 9 -12, 2023.

During the series of meetings, Misick will also meet bilaterally with the Minister responsible for Overseas Territories in the Foreign Commonwealth Development Office, Lord Zac Goldsmith of Richmond Park.

While in the United Kingdom, the Premier and delegates will also host an engagement with students and the diaspora in Manchester on May 13, 2023, a statement from the Office of the Premier said on Friday, April 28.

Commenting on the visit, Premier Misick said he is looking forward to direct engagement with the Government of the United Kingdom on matters of national interest to the Turks and Caicos Islands and the wider British Overseas Territory family.
