The following are its pros and cons. Pros: 1. Easy to ship. These houses are made from containers and so they can be easily moved from one place to another. Construction units which often change working sites should install the house. 2. Very strong. These containers are often made from steel, and so they will not be damaged by earthquakes or other forms of natural disasters. 3. Excellent sealing property. Containers well-made can be waterproof, so that you don’t have to worry you get drenched if they are built in the wild where rain often visits. 4. These container houses can be tailored into various building forms: office, dormitory, kitchen, toilet and so on. These forms will facilitate you to build a house out of them. 5. Easy to install and dismantle. Each house is a whole frame, in which there are frames and steel walls which can be covered by wooden boards. The entire house can carried from one place to another relatively easily. 6. It has a long lifespan. In common conditions a shipping container house can last as long as 20 years or more. This will save you so much money and energy. 7. Cheaper than traditional houses. This house usually costs about 30,000 - 40,000 dollars, which will never be able to help build a traditional house. It is an affordable choice for those who have financial difficulties. Cons: 1. Land purchase issue. Building a container house needs a certain amount of land which you should buy or rent according to different countries’ laws. You have to negotiate this with your local government. If the negotiation fails, you won’t be able to build any house. 2. Container house selection. Container houses are not only built with shipping containers, but also built with flat pack containers which are not as strong as shipping containers. If you buy flat pack containers, you will have to be more careful. 3. Decoration difficulty. The entire house is made from steel, and so it is more difficult to decorate than a traditional house. 4. Waterproof problem. In average conditions you don’t have to worry about this problem. However, if you need to build a large container house consisting of many containers. This time to make the whole house waterproof needs patience because different containers should be welded or installed together. This may produce cracks. So, be aware of this.
