Open MS PowerPoint View > Slide Master > Click on first slide master Master title style o Only need to change on first slide o Highlight > 30pt > Serif (Times New Roman) > Left aligned (CTRL+L) Master subtitle style o Only need to change on second slide o Highlight > 20pt > Serif (Times New Roman) > Left aligned (CTRL+L) Bullets o Only need to change on first slide o Highlight > check that they are left aligned
Task 4:
Only need to add the following to the first slide Draw two thick vertical lines down the right hand side as shown o It says about 3pt; do it exactly 3pt (Format > shape outline > weight > 3pt) o Use the shift key when drawing the line to help keep it vertical o Doesn’t say to change colour, so don’t do this Use clipart to search for a car (choose one of the first ones, don’t waste time looking for the perfect picture) o Adjust the size using the corner handles and place where requested Slide numbers o Move the slide number place holder from the bottom right to the top left o Resize it o Click insert > header & Footer > tick slide number (make sure it is now a black box) > OK
Task 5:
Manually check every type of slide master to make sure that nothing overlaps Remember to also double check the first slide master This also means that nothing should overlap the lines that you have drawn Close the slide master view
Task 6:
Click on the down arrow next to “New Slide” > choose slides from outline Find the J12SALES file you need to import It says that there should be 4 new slides o I had five, so deleted the first blank slide

Open the J12MICROSALES file in excel Change the width of the cells so that it is easier to read Highlight A2:A7 > Press CTRL and Highlight C2:C7 > Keep CTRL down and Highlight D2:D7 Insert > column > 2D column Remember to add axis titles BEFORE copying across to PowerPoint
Task 10:
Paste into slide 2 (delete the text place holder)
Task 11:
Using the left hand panel > highlight all 4 slides Click transitions > cut (don’t waste time looking for specific transitions) Screen print the left hand panel which now has stars against each slide to show that a transition has been applied
Task 12:
Highlight first bullet on slide 3 > Click animations > click appear Repeat this for each bullet on slide 3 and for each bullet on slide 4 Screen print evidence of this for slide 3 and slide 4 and add to evidence
Task 13: Print as requested Task 14: Save as requested Document production – MS Word Task 15: Open J12REPORT.RTF using MS Word Task 16: Page Layout > Size > A4 Task 17: Page Layout > Orientation > Portrait Task 18:

Task 19:

This is a subheading so goes on the line below the heading Create a new line under the heading Type in the subheading being careful of capitalisation and spelling (notice no gap before the colon, although there will be one after it)

Highlight the heading and subheading Change to a sans-serif font (Arial)
Task 26: Highlight the subheading only > change to 18pt Task 27: Highlight the subheading only > CTRL+U Task 28: Highlight the subheading only > CTRL+R Note: It is worth double checking at this stage with the tasks that cover the heading and subheading to make sure that you have applied the correct formatting. For example, make sure that the subheading doesn’t have the italic or bold applied to it which the main title does. Task 29:

You are told that this is going to be a table In the current Word document, click File Open Find the J12MODELS.CSV file (remember that you may need to change file type to all files) Changing the text to a table o In the file that you have just opened, highlight the text o Click on Insert o Click on the arrow on the table icon o Choose convert text to table o Click OK o Copy the table Click at the end of the last line on the last paragraph Press enter once Paste in the table
Task 31:
Match font style and size of the body text o Highlight table > change to 14pt Times New Roman Make only the text in the top line underlined o Highlight first row > CTRL+U Make only the text in the second row italic o Highlight the second row > CTRL+I Make only the text in the top two rows centre aligned o Highlight top two rows > CTRL+E
Task 32:
Merge only the cells in the top row o Highlight top row > Layout > Merge cells Display all gridlines when printed o Highlight table > Design > Borders > All Borders > switch on or off Fit within the column width o Manually check this (remember that the text must be inside the width but the border lines may be outside) o It is easier to redo the table than adjust it if it isn’t correct Align text to top of cells o Highlight table > right click > properties o Cell > vertical alignment > top o Take a screen print and add to evidence
Task 33/34:
To find the text “insert picture here” press CTRL+F and then type the text in Click before the first bracket Insert > Picture > find the picture o Remember to delete “(Insert picture here)”! Align with left margin of column o Right click on image > Format picture > Layout

Task 35: Press F7 to spell check > consider each spelling individually and change if necessary Task 36:
Consistent line spacing o Highlight all the text apart from the headings and check that it is single line spacing Consistent paragraph spacing o Highlight all the text apart from the headings and the table o Open the paragraph dialogue box and change paragraph spacing to 14pt after (i.e. one line) o Include this in your evidence Table does not overlap columns or pages o Manually check (although this should have been checked in tasks 30-32) There are no widows or orphans o Right click on the highlighted body text > open the paragraph dialogue box o Tick the orphan and widow control o Add this to your evidence There are no blank pages o Manually check this and remove if there are It is complete! o Manually check that you have ticked and completed every task.

Remember than when you asked to do a report, it will involve doing a query first Constructing the query o Create > Query wizard > simple query wizard > OK o Add all fields o Change the query name and modify the design > Finish o Under Model enter “MicroEco” against the criteria o On the same line under Sold enter “No” against the criteria o Change to design view and manually check that the records are only MicroEco and not sold o Save and close the query Constructing the report o In the left hand panel click once on the query you just created o Create > report wizard o Make sure that the correct query is showing in the Tables / Queries drop down list o Only select the requested fields > next o No grouping required > next o Choose location ascending in the first sort line and VIN ascending in the second sort line > next o Check that tabular is selected and then change orientation to landscape as requested o Tick adjust field width > next o Change name of the report and select preview > Finish Formatting the report o After previewing the report, you can see that you can reduce the widths of some of the fields.
