Crescent School's Robotics Program is the envy of many schools, and has become a signature hallmark of Crescent. It is also an expensive program to implement and maintain. In order to ensure the program's ongoing success and sustainability, Crescent is seeking modest financial support from the parents of those in the Robotics Program, [1]

and from the Crescent community. You might wish to provide a taxdeductible donation to help support the operational costs of the program. Please contact John Lynch, Director of Advancement, at (416) 466-4290 ext 242 or jlynch@crescentschool.org to discuss how your family can support Robotics with a taxdeductible gift. Thank you!

practice makes perfect

As the time we are allotted to build the robot dwindles down to none, 610 has set their sights set on the latter half of the FIRST season competition. Our team, with the assistance of other teams from our area, have been practicing on the field we have constructed in our field house. Practicing shooting cycles and hanging will give our drivers a feel for the robot that will improve their skills tremendously by the time our first regional comes around. The top teams in FIRST aim to finish their robot early. Teams can benefit from this by troubleshooting problems they inevitably encounter and drivers becoming familiar with the robot.

This year, we are grateful to be accompanied by FRC teams 907, 1241 and 3396. Having these teams here with us allows for the reciprocal sharing of ideas, and is just one way we reach out to other teams in the FIRST community. Not only does it raise the level of play at regional competitions, having an entire weekend to focus on robotics reduces the stress that follows this stage of the build season. Thus, as our team strives for perfection with the hopes of catching excellence along the way, students and mentors clock numerous hours finishing the robot. We hope to make this season our best ever!
