John Deere liners are heat-treated to a precise hardness and depth to increase durability and life. Proper heat-treat hardness provides a hard surface with good wear characteristics. Pre-assembled piston liner kits eliminate the chance for broken or improperly installed piston rings, which can cause power loss, oil consumption, and excessive wear, leading to seized pistons and potentially premature engine failure. Fiber-reinforced piston bowl rings provide more than twice the yield strength of aluminum alloy and increase the operating pressure and temperature range without the risk of cracking. John Deere uses two layers of metal alloy on the ID face of the main bearings to protect them from the constant rotational forces of the crankshaft.
