Arup Work Experience In July/August 2016 I joined Arup for a 2 week work experience. Arup is a practice well know for their sustainable designs at any scale, specialising in landscape design for major infrastructure projects, masterplans for new cities, streetscapes, the public realm, mixed-use developments, ecological habitats and green roofs. During my time at Arup I was involved in two urban regeneration projects and one visual impact assessment.

Project 2: Barnsley Town Centre Regeneration The second project I assisted with was about Barnsley Town Centre. I drew a base map, helped look at temporary uses for development sites so they function as community growing sites, and assisted with finding ideas and images for proposals relating to Mandela Gardens, the surrounding Lanes area and Peel Square.

Site visit: visual impact assessment I assisted with a visual impact assessment near Rugby for a service station along the M5. The purpose of the site visit was to take initial panoramic photos of view points for initial review. At a later stage photos would be retaken by a professional photographer.
View points for Rugby had been established before the site visit. On return to the office, I assisted with another assessment for a project in Werrington. For this assessment I drew up viewpoints based on images taken on a previous site visit
