NIMU my sister’s friend who says that she will stop drinking every Sunday morning, but forgets every Friday night.
DRINKING friends who drink together stay together. I’m not much of a drinker. I try stay away from spirits.

SPIRITS like those African masks which muzungus and rich/middle class Kenyans (ironically) have in their homes.
KENYANS not all of them, the ones who shop at Carrefour and buy store brands because they are cheaper. The ones who mispronounce the word croissant, are the same ones who catch flights to Paris every other Tuesday.

TUESDAY terrific pizza deals. ‘Pizza Inn pizza isn’t even that good.’ I converse with my sister as we shove slices of peri-peri chicken down our throats. Tssss heh-heh-heh tsssss. That’s the sound my sister makes as she sticks out her tongue and fans it. The peri-peri is too hot.
HOT have you ever been to Kisumu? the weather is as hot as the ugali and skumawiki you get in those restaurants cluttered by the lake.

LAKE the one called Victoria is filled with hyacinth, a thing which looks like an island but, it’s just leaves and weeds sticking together.
STICKING TOGETHER my sister told me about people who have been tricked into buying hyacinth thinking it is land.

LAND it’s actually very sad, but I still laugh.
LAUGH my sense of humour which no one gets, sometimes I keep my jokes to myself and make me lonely.
LONELY that thing which people are scared of or is it – ALONE which I am proud of? independently on my own, growing into myself out of my old self. which no longer fits like a pair of old jeans.
GROWING in nature, if things are not growing, they are dead.
