What are some of the best applications for steam?

Steam cleaning is so versatile that it can be found in many different working areas, but it is especially suitable for the industrial and professional sectors. For instance, steam is perfect for cleaning and sanitizing mesh and flat conveyor belts in the Food & Beverage industry. Tecnovap’s belt cleaner system is tailor-made for every customer and it can be manual, semi-automatic or even fully automatic. This conveyor belt cleaning system is designed to be paired with one of our steam generators, which can always be used for other cleaning operations inside your premises, creating an all-round package for any cleaning necessity inside your company.

What are the new frontiers of steam cleaning?

Tecnovap is consistently exploring new and interesting cleaning solutions. A particularly innovative application for steam is the cleaning of high-level surfaces inside industrial premises, where dust can become a risk factor for production safety. In this regard, Tecnovap has developed T.E.S.S. (Tecnovap Extreme Steam System), a new way to effortlessly clean high-level surfaces thanks to light carbon-fiber poles that can reach impressive heights from ground level. By means of this system, no scissor lifts or other specialist equipment are required to carry out the sanitization of high-level surfaces, giving life to a very cost-effective alternative in the long term. This system can be safely operated during production hours, cancelling any existing machine downtime costs. The semi-automatic Enolmaster filler is a professional bottler for wine, oil, beer, liqueurs, fruit juices and many other liquid food products, including foaming products, and for bottling at high temperatures.

The operation is simple and hygienic: a vacuum pump sucks the liquid from the container, filling up, in seconds, up to four bottles at a time.

Thus, the liquid is sucked without shaking and without any contact with mechanical parts and the filling level, set by the operator, is automatic and remains the same for all the bottles, during the entire bottling process.

Kits and accessories are available to expand functionality and use: Recovery vessel in Pyrex glass, filling spouts for mignon or magnum bottles, or even for particular bottles with long necks, stainless steel or fiberglass filtering systems, to be able to bottle and filter any product in a single operation. Ease of use and simplicity of washing, dosing speed and precision, small dimensions and specific materials certified for the food industry make Enolmaster the ideal bottler for oil mills, wineries, distilleries and breweries.

VLS Technologies represents worldwide a single reference point for the client for both the aspect of filtration and more complex needs that involve the whole process of liquid treatment: that is made possible by the production plant in San Zenone degli Ezzelini in the Province of Treviso, northeast Italy, as well as by an established worldwide network of agents, authorized reselling and assistance. In addition to traditional applications, the focus of VLS Technologies is also the development of innovative solutions such as cross-flow filtration systems and reverse osmosis, because the markets of wine, beer, spirits, juices and soft drinks are constantly evolving, and the technological solutions adopted for the filtration of liquids must keep up with innovation and growth. Innovative technologies guarantee a number of advantages. For example, in cross-flow filtration the liquid is pushed by means of pressure through the particular pores of a membrane: thanks to this system the clients are able to improve the obtained quantity of product, decreasing energy consumption and production costs, for example avoiding the usage of clarifiers and adjuvants. Among technologies based on cross-flow filtration, the most innovative one is the TLS filter.

Customized vertical pressure leaf filters

VLS Technologies vertical pressure leaf filter is extremely performing in all of its versions: the standard one for wine, and the special models for beer, sparkling wines (PED certified), but also viscous products, high-temperature sugary solutions, oil, brine and aggressive products. Considering the particular production needs of the customer and developing a specific project, VLS Technologies can realize custom-made versions of its vertical pressure leaf filter, guaranteeing the best results in every field of application. In particular, VLS supports the brewery sector by offering high quality products, especially to small and medium-sized breweries.

FVV-BVA filters for breweries

The Danish company Harboe, which produces and trades malt-based beverages, is a fifth-generation company with its production plants in three countries and trading activities in more than 90 markets worldwide, to which VLS Technologies has delivered a vertical FVV-35-BVA pressure leaf filter for beer. This filtration system is a compact monobloc unit made of stainless steel (AISI 304) and it is designed for the filtration of food liquids through the usage of kieselguhr. The liquid flows starting from a measuring device and from the feeding pumps to the filtering chamber where the main filtering process takes places thanks to kieselguhr and vertical filtering sheets. By Harboe the filter is used for the filtration of beer and a malt-based sugary solution. The FVV range goes from 5 to 75 sq.m of filtering surface but VLS Technologies can produce filters for beer and food liquids with a different size according to the requirements of the client.
