Kashmir is a main Muslim booming state which was decided by a Hindu Maharajah. This state was provided as gift by the English to the erstwhile Prime Minister of Maharajah Ranjit Singh for betraying the Khalsa Army during the Anglo-Sikh wars


After the slip up of British rule in 1947 the then Maharajah of Kashmir Hari Singh decided to stay separate. But Jinnah ordered an invasion of the state and irregular troops and tribals led by regular Pakistan Army


At this stage Hari singh panicked and finalized the device of accession to India. Indian troops were then hurried to Srinagar and succeeded in pushing the raiders back. However as Nehru had no stomach for a prolonged conflict, he agreed for a cease


The outcome of the cease fire was that almost one third of Kashmir came in Pakistan's control and the real line separating the two armies became a defacto edge recognized as the 'line of control'. But things changed after General Zia became President of Pakistan


The Muslim population however by and large remained immune to this phenomena and in frustration Pakistan started infiltrating Jihad groups and fighters into Kashmir. These fighters wreaked havoc and targeted the Hindu community in particular with the result
