NTERIOR DESIGN PORTFOLIO

TEIONNA HANNA

This portfolio is an introduction to my undergraduate interior design work. I am currently a student at Iowa State University, looking for an interior design position when I graduate this upcoming May of 2023.

I have always been passionate about the development of spaces, specifically hospitality and commercial design. Space is a large portion of our everyday lives, and my goal is to provide interior environments that will make a difference in those lives.

LUXURY ITALIAN RESTAURANT LA DOLCE VITA 01

La Dolce Vita is a high-end Italian restaurant built in New York City. The idea behind the large brick building was to capture the surrounding city life with elegance. The immense windows and curved archways create this visual, bringing in a variety of sunlight and darkness to set the tone of the environment. The chosen color palette correlates to La Dolce Vita’s characteristics, providing an elegant experience for a romantic dinner, lunch with friends and family, and serving as a place to gather with others, inside or on the relaxing outdoor patio.

Individual Project: Time span of three months.

The archways throughout the restaurant provide great separation and circulation around its main focus of the bar. Individuals in the restaurant will be able to have the option of social interaction, as well as privacy if preferred.

This coffee shop can be home to many on the outskirts of Chicago. Its natural color palette with various shades of blue gives a vibrant and airy environment for people to enjoy daily. Natural materials such as wood complement throughout to give a comforting feel to the space, making it a great place to study, grab breakfast, or catch up with a friend. The Coffee House will serve various drinks, from coffee and tea to juices and breakfast pastries that best fit the client.

EDUCATION 03

INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS BUILDING HIGHER

The current Landscape Architecture building on Iowa State’s campus is tightly spaced, poorly lit, and non-welcoming to the international students and faculty that occupy this environment. Our focus as design students was to replenish the existing space with a new and improved learning environment at Iowa State University. Using modernized finishes, various colors, and an open concept with natural light will provide the users with a comfortable and welcoming space to engage on campus.

Class Group Project: Time span of four months. Renders shown were my portion of responsibilities for level one of the project, with the concept and design collaboration of Madison Sprague.

SENIOR LIVING COMMUNITY SIERRA HEIGHTS 04

Our group was challenged to replenish the rundown Park Fair Mall in Des Moines, Iowa to a new functioning senior living community. Our design suits the needs of senior clients by providing brain stimulation through our sensory spaces and color palette. The earthy tones with accents of retro color variations coordinate with our inspiration from National Parks across the United States. Many National Parks were popularized in the same time period when our clients were adolescents, our concept will bring back memories and connect their future with their past.

Class Group Project: Time span of four months. Renders shown were my portion of responsibilities for the project with the concept and design collaboration of Kayla Sell, and Samia Abdalla.

The idea of the atrium is to begin small at ground level and expand larger to the third floor. The immense skylight will provide the main source of natural lighting. Many heights surround national parks, and this plays into the role of our design concept and development.

TINY TUSCAN VILLA 05

RESIDENTIAL TINY HOME

The benefit of a Tiny Home is that it can bring light to life in ways we have not yet discovered. Places in the world that provide us with an experience allows for an escape to our physical and mental well-being as humans. Educating our society about a new way of life can go further into sustainable living and will provide an Eco-friendly system that is more likely compatible with the earth’s population.

Tuscany is home to many with its beautiful nature, vineyards, and architecture. The endless amount of opportunities to explore nature surrounding the area and gather fresh local foods and wine daily make it a perfect place to get the true quality of life. This location of The Tuscan Villa gives a young couple an escape from the fast pace world we live in.

NORTH SECTION

With little space to work with, building up was the best option for this Tiny Home. The 16’ ceilings create a visual of openness to correlate with the windows and natural lighting surrounding the home. The bedroom then has privacy with a solid railing that can look over to below without feeling confined in the space.

ROME SKETCHING AND HAND DRAWN INTERIOR PERSPECTIVES

While studying abroad in Rome, I would sketch elements and perspectives of my surroundings. The interior perspective shown below was one of my first perspective drawing assignments from my core design classes at Iowa State.
