Works by Teis Albers 2010 - 2012
Astronaut Moonwalk
Teis Albers (‘82) creates mixed media art by combining scraps from all kinds of sources. The works are a mix of graphic design, illustration, typography, photography and various pasting techniques. The work can be called experimental, wild and expressive. Inspiration comes from vintage objects, street art, 60s/70s sci-fi, flyers & advertisements, traveling, nature, flea markets, animal prints and music...lots of music! Teis started out as a graphic designer and has been working for almost a decade for a variety of clients and brands (www.hypnoteis.nl). Besides his more corporate work he’s always been experimenting with free work, to keep the creative flow going on. After living in the city for a few years he recently moved to the countryside. This contrast is the foundation of his art nowadays. The weathered walls with torn posters next to the flowerfields and trees. Shoppingmalls with racing people with a flock of birds above them. Whether it’s graphics, film or music, it doesn’t matter as long as I can express myself Life is short, go create!
